My Quokka Jisung

"Gosh, don't you know that hybrids are getting popular these days?" One of your girl friends whispered as she sipped on her boba drink.

Another friend's eye grew huge, "I've heard of them! I actually really want one!" She clapped her hands nodding her head.

"But aren't they like, really expensive?" A different person interrupts. The three of them sighed with disappointment.

Hina shook you by the shoulders. "Y/n? Are you even listening?"

"Huh?" You turned to her as the two laughed shaking their heads.

"Same old Y/n. Always spacing off." Dohyun smiles sending you a wink as she continued to look through her phone.

"Omg! Guys!" Dohyun yells out happily, immediately standing up from her seat.

"There's a special hybrid event that's happening over there by the corner! Let's go!" She packed her things and tugged onto Hina and Eunji.

"Aren't you coming?" Eunji questions while looking back at you.

You shook your head and grabbed your things. "It's going to rain and I don't have my umbrella."

"It'll be fine!" Hina chimes in as she jumps up and down excitedly.

"It's okay, I'm not interested with the hybrids or whatever it is anyways." You grabbed your stuff and stood up.

Dohyun tilts her head, "You sure?"
"Yeah, plus my apartment is just a few blocks from here, I'll be fine."

"We'll be going then." She waves at you as the other two follows quickly behind after saying their goodbyes.

You plugged in your earphones and made your way out of the shop.

The sky began to get cloudy, slowly taking away the sunlight of the day.

You picked up your pace as you've got no umbrella, while carrying some books you've recently bought from your university.

The rain rolled down the cloudy sky, making you run towards your apartment.

You got inside quickly drying yourself with a towel as you set the books by the coffee table turning on the tv, settling yourself on the couch nice and warm as the weather outside grew cold.

You felt your lids growing heavier as you were slowly closing your eyes.

Suddenly there were intense knocks on the door, causing you to open your eyes.

"Oh my gosh, what is it." You stood up from the couch, rubbing your eyes as you yawned.

You open the door to see a little basket with a note on the doorstep. You looked from left to right to see if there was anyone.

It was empty as the sound of the rain drops filled your ears. You frowned tilting your head in confusion.

"What's this?" You questioned and slowly opened the note on the side of the basket.

It read, "Please take care of him for me." You licked your lips, furrowing your brows.

You slowly open the basket to see a sleeping quokka closing it's eyes as it laid comfortably.

"H-hannie..?" You quickly picked up the small basket, pulling it inside as you closed the door.

He was still asleep as you quickly made a call. "Mom? Why is Hannie here? Shouldn't he be with grandma?" You muttered softly, not wanting to wake him up.
