Chapter 2. The Saviour

It has been so long since I last visited this place. So many memories are fashing through.
"Sir, how are you? It has been many years since I last came here with you. Remember, you gave me this ring. I am a priest now. I worked really hard to become what you wanted me to be and I even was appointed as the principal of Mother Mary girl school".

This was the moment when I saw a youthful young girl making her way towards the lighthouse. I was expecting her ,after all, this is what master predicted. But when I saw her about to end her life, I was startled.

" Stop playing around, man. I despise people like you. Don't make promises you can't keep. You think you can save me by saying some sympathetic words and become my saviour. You are a priest so you think that you will get double the respect and approval from 'your God' by helping me. You are just a foolish individual" retorted the young women.

"He is not 'my God'. He is everyone's God. Anyways,If you want to die who am I to stop you. But can you not wait for five more minutes and if I am unable to convince you, I will leave you alone "

"I guess five more minutes won't hurt" replied the girl. As soon as she said those words, relief rushed through my body. It is not a mere coincidence that I came across her here out of all the places in the world and that too when she was about to die. She must be fated to become my successor as master envisioned.

"My child, What is your name?"

"Alina."

Alina. Alina means bearer of light. I guess she will bring light to my soul.

"You have a beautiful name. It means bearer of light. You said you wanted to end your life because you don't have any reason to live. How long have you been wanting to end your life? I don't think it is a thought that appeared overnight to you".

" You are right about this part. All I know is that I wanted to end it all year's ago but I had a feeble hope. As time passed by I realized that even this feeble hope will fade away and it did".
She replied with composed posture and a monotonous voice but her eyes were welling up. She seems to have a real hard exterior.

"Well, you waited this long . Why can't you wait for another three months? I will fulfil my promise within these three months".

" You must be very pretentious. You are foolish to think I will believe your words. I can see you are desperate to become someone's saviour. I apologize but I don't need your pity ".
I could feel that her anger was welling up.

" You are misunderstanding everything. I am not your saviour but you are the one who will save me. You are my saviour".

"I don't know what you mean but life has taught me well sir. In this cruel world, nothing comes for free. So, stop beating around the bush and come out with the truth. What is it that you want from me "
She is righteous and a bit arrogant too. I guess God chose her as my successor for a reason.

" There is one thing that don't see any selfishness and it is called humanity. Since you don't understand it, let's make a pact. If I give you a reason then you will receive an envelope, you will have to do what is written on it. If I fail then your life decision is up to you.

"Deal.... Can I ask you one question. How can I be your saviour?".

" You will know soon. It is getting late so I think you should head back home.

As I saw Alina heading towards I realized I finally accomplished my first task. Now I should take care of the real reason I am here. I have to report to school first thing in the morning. I don't want to raise any suspicion. I have to welcome Alina to school tomorrow. Tomorrow is going to be a really interesting day, after all, she is the reason I came here and became the principal of her school. You chose her name really well sir.....

Sir, I guess you were right when you said:

She will be my saviour..........
