It was a beautiful day, the weather was almost perfect. A cloudless sky, warm sun, and the smell of spring hung in the fresh breeze. The sun was going down now, casting orange and pink colors among the sky. The river sparkled with a orange tint as the sunset reflected onto it. A small calico she-cat emerged from the bushes and into the small clearing. She gently pressed her paws into the sand as she walked towards the river. Once she got onto the shoreline, she dipped her paws into the water. The she-cat then laid down, curling her fluffy tail around her chest. She watched as the sun almost completely went down, soon stars casted light among the sky and a full moon emerged, replacing the sun. The calico sighed, disappointed that she wasn't chosen to go to the gathering. But the night was peaceful, the ripples of the water and the quiet bird song in the distance was pretty calming. So maybe it wasn't all bad. Suddenly there was a crunch of a branch behind the calico. The she-cat swung around to see a slim and pale she-cat behind her.
The calico suddenly felt a little nervous as the pale she-cat took a step closer.
"Paledawn, good to see you here." The calico murmured, trying to force a friendly tone.
Paledawn dipped her head and slowly swayed her long tail.
"It's good to see you too." Paledawn meowed with enthusiasm.
The calico narrowed her eyes. Paledawn sounded happy, too happy. Which was unusual for her.
The calico stood up and faced the pale she-cat.
"Shouldn't you be in the nursery? I'm sure your kits need you to tend to them." The calico she-cat growled, trying to get her to leave.
A small hint of guilt appeared in Paledawn's eyes, but it quickly faded.
"None of that matters, darling." Paledawn murmured.
The calico shifted her paws with discomfort.
"Why do you say that?" The calico asked.
Paledawn grinned. "Your fairly nice, and pretty. At least that's what I heard. What a shame."
The calico took a step back as Paledawn started to get closer.
"G-get away from me." The calico stuttered. "Your delusional."
Paledawn unsheathed her claws.
"You should've kept away from him, whore."
The calico hissed in anger.
"Your crazy!"
Paledawn shook her head.
"I'm not the crazy one."
Paledawn leaped onto the small calico, ripping apart her sides, splattering red blood onto her chest.
The calico hissed with fury, she clawed into the air aimlessly trying to hit Paledawn. But due to the small size of the calico, Paledawn was clearly more powerful. Paledawn grinned with excitement as her claws went deeper into the calico's flesh. The calico screeched with pain. Paledawn then pinned the she-cats body under the water. The river started to run red with blood. Paledawn has a strong grip on the calicos chest, keeping her from moving away from her grasp as the calico relentlessly tried to get away. Paledawn slashed the calicos amber eyes, more blood splattered onto Paledawn's sleek coat. The calico screamed as blood was streaming down her face.
Paledawn laughed, her light blue eyes showed no remorse or empathy.
"Look on the brightside, the world would be so much better without you!"
The calico gasped as Paledawn bit into her neck and used her paw to push the calicos head under the water. The calicos strength was quickly dissolving as the calico stopped struggling and then went limb.
Paledawn let the calico go and stepped out of the river. Blood dripped onto the sand as Paledawn looked at the now dead she-cat right in front of her paws.
Paledawn sighed with relief as she finally felt as if the pain and hatred she's been feeing for countless moons was being lifted of her shoulders. She finally got her revenge. Paledawn watched as the calicos body was swept away by the current.
Paledawn went back into the river and started to wash the blood of herself.
"He will be back soon... now that she's gone. I will have him back, and my kits will have their father." Paledawn murmured to herself.
Once Paledawn washed all the blood away, she started to head back to camp.
"He will be back." Paledawn murmured. "Everything will be fine."
