I make it back to the party. My eyes wonder for the pirate, but he seems to have disappeared. Probably off stealing gold from the king. The next best thing is to just tell the king of his presence in the castle.
"Sssseeerenity, where have you been?" Melody screeches in my ear. I look back to Melody hastily making her way to me. Judging by how she's tripping over her own feet, and how she slurred my name, my sister is definitely drunk. She then clings to my arm to keep herself from tipping over.
"Ugh, are you serious Melody?" I groan. And she talks about how I should be proper. I slip my arm behind her back and hold onto her waste to help her walk.
I make my way to the king's chambers to ask the guards for his attention all while struggling to keep Melody from falling. The king sometimes goes to parties, and if he isn't, the maids whisper about him staying in his chamber, most likely with his mistress. Just the thought of that disgusts me.
I tell the guards I have important information to share with the king and they travel the word to him. I wait patiently for their return. Melody holds onto my arm tightly, almost feeling like she's cutting the circulation from my arm. Getting tired of holding onto my sister, I gently lower her to the ground and prop her back against the wall. She just rambles on about how clouds should be pink instead of white because apparently they would be so much better looking.
The guards came back and allow me to pass into the king's chamber. However, my sister has to stay behind with the guards. I assume it's because she's a drunk mess.
I walk into the room to see the king sitting at his desk and curtsy while I bow my head. His jeweled crowns sits besides him, perched on a pillow. The floor is a golden color, probably actual gold. He has a big bed in the corner of the room with red velvet drapes hanging from the top of each framing, along with very pricy art hung against each wall.
I open my mouth to speak, but stop as soon as I look back up to see the emerald green eyed monster. He smirks yet again, and I want nothing more than to see him behind bars. I grind my teeth and squeeze my hands tight enough to draw blood.
The king notices that my attention has been diverted and clears his throat to get me back on task. Once again, I advert my attention back onto the king, ignoring the presence of that deceiving pirate. I watch the king rests his head onto the palm of his hand and stares at me rather bored looking.
"So why have you wanted to come bother me at such a time? Shouldn't you be putting yourself on display, looking for a husband?" He starts.
I catch myself before I spit out anything too vial to insult the king. Feeling calm, I begin to answer answer his question, "Well your highness, I am here to report a crime-"
"Stop, just stop," he cuts me off, "I already know that you're going to talk about how my dear friend, Willam here is committing a treasonous crime of pirating blah, blah, blah."
Already in shock from just seeing the pirate here, my expression widens as a million of questions run through my head. I feel slightly annoyed he had to cut me off. If he already knew, then why did he allow me to speak? I didn't think the king knew he was a pirate. I look back at this so called William, pirate guy to see him still with a smug smirk. Except now it's widened.
"Friends?," I yell, "but he's a pirate! That's a treason!"
"William is an exception because, well let's just say that he helps me out on some pressing matters. And if you know what's good for you girl, I'd keep your mouth shut. Don't speak of a pirate being my ally to anyone if you don't want to get yourself hurt...or killed," he threatens.
