FYI: This chapter is gonna be in Jack's point of view. 1st person. xD enjoy.
My mind raced around itself multiple times. Every muscle in my body screamed for help and my heart felt like it was gonna collapse on itself. What was happening to me? Why am I in so much goddamn pain? My eye lids were heavy as well as my body. I forced my eyelids opened only to be greeted by an iced over room. The walls were red and gold mixed with a soft swirl of silver to separate the colors. I blinked a couple of times before trying to move my body. I grunted, feeling each movement scream in pain. Swinging my feet over the side of the bed, I sat up, looking at the ground for my staff but saw nothing. I heard footsteps outside the door.
"Do you think Jack will remember us? Sandy?" There was a silence after a girls voice asked.
"He's got a point, mate." An Australian accent said.
I lifted a brow, slowly rising to my feet. I have no idea who these people are and I don't think sticking around is a great idea. I gripped my side and made my way to an open window on the south side of the room. Making my steps as quiet at possible, I turned around to see the knob moving. My body started falling while my foot ached with pain.
"Woah! SHIT!" I shouted, face planting into the ground. I quickly scrambled to my hands and knees, just when the door flew open.
"Jack?" Asked a feathered chick.
With unnatural speed, I stood up and brushed off any sign of distress. My body ached still but I played it off .
"Hey fellows. Uh.. Hi?" I said awkwardly.
The big guy in red shook his head. "Jack, you okay?" He asked.
"Oh, PSH! I'm fine... PSH yeah..." I said trying so hard to act natural and I am epically failing right now. I sigh.
"Sandy, think you can help him?" Asked the bunny to the short stubby fella who looked really familiar.
The guy he called Sandy shrugged, before looking at me. I raised a brow.
"Jack, this is sandy, I'm tooth, this is north and this is Bunny. We are the guardians just like you," said Tooth.
I raised a brow. "A guardian, huh?" I say, seeing my staff I quickly ran to it. "Yes!" I shared a glance with Bunny."I mean, sounds fun but I found my staff is why I got excited." I say.
Bunny stood forward.
"Oy, sit down, we need to talk to you." He said.
I sighed, sitting down in the bed again. Bunny sat down and looked me straight in the eye. "Do you remember us?" He asked.
"Nope."
"None of us?"
"Nuh uh."
"Do you know why that is?" He asked me.
I knitted my brows. Thinking back, its unclear. The thought didn't cross my mind of why these strangers know me but I don't. For some reason the guy in all black back at the lake seemed really familiar tho. But none of them do... Except...
"Sandy?" I say under my breath. He was the one who died by Pitch's hand... Pitch? Who is Pitch?
"I... Sandy... " I say looking the short stubby guy in the eyes with a smile. "I... I remember you! You were dead weren't you? I saw you die!" I shout.
Sandy shook his head, tapping Norths calf. "Jack, you remember Sandy?" Asked North.
A smile spread across my lips. "Yeah... I... I remember him very well." I say.
"What about any of us?" Asked Tooth.
I stared at each one individually, but nothing clicked. "I don't." I paused. "But I do remember some guy named Pitch." I say, stepping forward in the room. They all have a look of confusion with a mix of anger the longer I look at them.
