ALEX'S P.O.V.
Much to my dismay, the ride to Zach's house was painfully long, not to mention awkwardly quiet if i do say so myself and I preferred it that way. Its not like we were friends that I'd be bothered by the uncomfortable atmosphere. He was just a guy I happened to meet who happened to seem so much more appealing when I didn't know about his reputation who also happens to have my late mothers diary. That's it.
"You don't talk very much, do you?"
It took a while for me to register that he was actually talking to me after I had zoned out.
"Uh... I don't? Actually, Jude says I talk non stop and also eat nonstop."
He smiled a little and his eyes crinkled.
"Seems like you guys have a really strong ... bond. Don't mind me asking but are you guys like... together?"I laughed. Like basically hyena laughed on this poor boy and he looked at me like I had grown a second head. It might have not been the best thing for me to laugh out loud like that and I couldn't blame for thinking that, considering the fact that Jude and I are basically joined at the hip.
"Sorry. But no, were not a thing and frankly, I'm not his type." I replied, not sure if he'd caught on to what I just said.
"How so?"
"Jude isn't into girls."
Realization etched across his features and I nodded.
"So, you, Jude and Alex are like best friends?"
I didn't know what I was supposed to tell him considering He knew me as Ella and he kept asking about Alex which was also me but he didn't know that which made everything a lot more complicated than it really needed to be. Also, that I'd have to be careful so I didn't blow my cover. I couldn't risk anyone here finding out. I had it hard enough at home. The last thing I needed was unnecessary attention from a bunch of people my age.
Luckily, I didn't have to give him an answer because we were pulling up to what I assumed was his house.
His house was huge. I wasn't surprised. Zach looked like someone that came from money. The house screamed "rich". The walls boasted elegance and the architecture was simply perfect. We pulled up into the driveway, past a fountain and a lot of landscaping. Yet somehow, for those who dared to look closer, beyond the surface, it was... cold.
He killed the engine and quickly got down and like he did before, opened the door for me.
Always the gentleman. No wonder more than half of the population is eating off his hands.
"Thanks." I said to him as I got out.
ZACH'S P.O.V.
I never really let people into my house, safe for Scott, my best friend and now... a total stranger whom I know nothing about.
As I led her into the house that had been empty- except for me and the house staff-for as long as I could remember and then to my room, I couldn't help but feel a little self conscious because I had never actually brought a girl into my room before.
It wasn't like I didn't have girls over for some fun and hookups but I always took them to one of the guest rooms and the business ended there.
Not to get distracted, I had to keep my head in the game. I needed to find out more about Alex and Ella seemed to be the only way I could do that. I just had to make it as not weird or creepy as I could. It was important that I found her.
The only girl who had managed to stir something in me that wasn't the blood flow in my dick. In just a night, I was convinced that she would mean something to me. But for any of that to actually happen, I had to find her first.
