The first part of the ride was quiet, I can't seem so find my voice, let alone my mind. I can't seem to understand what happened earlier in the grocery.
I was shopping alone, enjoying my time and then there was this man. He was about to hide me but this other man has a gun. There were gunshots fired, I don't even know if anyone was harmed. Do I really want to know?
The man with the gun was speaking but suddenly he was slumoed over with a dart sticking on his back, along with his other goons. Police started to break in. Shouldn't I been questioned as a witness? What am I doing in this strange man's car?
Car. Car
I'm in a stranger's car.
I don't care if he tried to take care of me earlier, he is still a stranger.
"Wh-who are you? Where are you taking me?" I asked in a quivering voice, afraid of what may be.
He looked at me from the front mirror of the car. His gaze is stready, like he hasn't gone through the same thing as me and look at me. I am a mess, my hair must've looked like a bird's nest, my eyes feels fluffy, my cheeks blotchy with tears still streaming down my face. And he just looks at me calmly and said. "Just wait, we'll arrive soon."
"Arrive where??" My heart started to beat faster again.
Where is he taking me? Can be be trusted?
"Just wait, we're almost there." Why isn't he giving me straight answers? My eyes starts to wander around the car, the windows were tinted black, looking for something, for clues, just anything. The inside of the car didn't look suspicious, but it is well taken care off, like a business car or something, it look liked one of those cars that can erect a divider between the passenger and the driver.
Nothing was out of place, and the fact that I don't see any visible weapon on him made me act a bit more calm than if he was displaying a gun on the dashboard.
I pat down my clothes, looked for my purse where I kept my phone. It's not there. I didn't realize that the robber took my belongings untill just know, when I'm literally on board a stranger's car with no means to call for help.
We were driving at some lonely road, I saw little to no cars run passed us.
What is his plan?
My hand went straight to the car's door. Before I got the chance to even touch it the man spoke.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you. Besides, it's already locked."
"Are... Are you kidnapping me?" I blurted the question like it wasn't obvious already.
I looked at him on the front mirror and he said in his most straight face, "No."
I want to ram his head on the wheel but that might kill me faster.
"Just tell me what you want, please We don't have much money, I won't be any good for ransoms." I pleaded to him.
He just kept his eyes on the road and continue driving.
I started to think this through, If this was indeed a kidnapping wouldn't he have more people in the car to keep me from fighting him? I could steal the wheel at any moment, considering I'm not tied in anyway, but as I've said, that may kill me faster. He also didn't look like a kidnapper, he looked more like a bodyguard without the fancy attire with the way he moves, his back straight, eyes kn the road and calculated movements.
But also, mybe he just wants to add to his body count...
Before I could do anything more, I realized the landscaped changed and we were in the more expensive part of town, where I believe some celebrities or businessmen live here.
What could this mean? Am I going to be sold as a prostitute? Are they going to sell my viginity? Organs?
I really hope not.
The drive continue for a moment before we entered a big gate and the man on the wheels talked to the intercom. I listened carefully to get some clues.
"I have the lady with me, tell the Master I'm coming up. Thank you."
Yeah, I didn't really get much from that.
Upon entering the gates I saw a lush garden being tended by gardeners, tall trees and bushes cut perfectly to resemble an animal.
Aa we got closer to the place, I saw a huge intricate fountain on the middle, some fancy, expensive looking cars lined up on the side with a wide veranda shielding it from the sun.
The building itself was white, it's modern with tall windows and some unusual architecture, but it is also old, like it waa built a long time ago but was kept being renovated or altered. It has tall, wide colums supporting a roof across the pathway directly infront of the door.
The car stopped, and the locks unlocked. I was to nervous to do anything that I jut watched the man got off the car and opened the door for me, reaching a hand for me ro take.
What is this??
As I got out he began to guide me through the doors. Once inside he stopped a moment to say something.
"I know how taxing this is for you but please entertain my Master for a moment till your father has arrived." he didn't wait for me to answer, he took me by the elbow and start walking a series of turns and stairs.
The architecture felt like a maze, sometimes I see two similar decorations and thought we circled but ended up in some new part of the house. Portraiture lined the walls, some old, some a bit recent. Expensive china and vases decorated the place. And there were doors, many doors.
We finally stopped at what I thing is the biggest one in the house. The man knocked three times and I heard a faint 'enter.', then we walked inside and I was faced in your typical main boss office in the movies.
There was the desk, a high swiveling chair, tall windows overlooking the scenery. Piles and piles and piles of papers stacked neatly. And there was this stern man sitting behind the desk, looking at me in a very interested manner.
A chill went down my spine. Looking at his worn face made me think of how businessmen were portryed on movies. How they look down at people, how they badly treat their employees, how they don't really care much of people who are under them.
But then..
Then he smiled a genuine smile.
Saying I was surprised was an understatement.
He stood up, walked over me nd the weirdest thing was he hugged me and kissed both my cheeks despite how it must still be streaked with tears. He was smiling like a child. He shaked the man's hand and pat his shoulder saying "A job well done!"
I thought that was the weirdest moment of my life.
No, it wasn't.
But this is.
"Welcome home daughter in law!"
