Once Upon A Time...

'Glass, Roger? Glass! Roger!'
'Roger! Yeah'
I looked at Arielle, "Go now!" She grabbed the rope and climbed down.
We were on a mission to get back a set of stolen pearls from a mob, The Covenant. Ella (or Glass) was lookout in the main hall while dancing with the other lookout Ben. Eric was a waiter, I was the screen monitor, and Arielle is supposed to retrieve the pearls.
I watched her run down the first corridor. I looked to the other screens.
'Shark, two guys, next right, both have guns one has a tazer.'
'Roger!'
She hid behind the corner. I counted down until they would reach where she was.
'5...4...3...2...'
She swung around the corner, she kick flipped the guy with the tazer. She grabbed the tazer and then tazed the other guy.
I yelled a little to loudly, "Excellent."
'Blue Knight did you put the decoder in place and start it?'
'Yes'
'Ok, Shark, wait until the thing is finished, when it's done, there's a laser system in the artifact room. So be careful.'
'Roger'
'Glass, we good?'
'No, 4 guys heading your way Shark.'
I dropped down the rope. And climbed my way through the ceiling panels. I saw shadows beneath me.
'Shark, they're almost there, you ready?'
'Roger'
I continued crawling until I saw the place where Arielle was.
'Shark I'm above you. Don't move until I get down out of here.'
'Roger'
The guys were at the other end of the corridor, they saw Arielle. They walked down the corridor. They were right under me. I whispered in the ear piece.
'3...2...1!'
I kicked through one of the ceiling panels. I landed on one of the guys heads.
Arielle slid under one guys legs, flipped over his head and kicked him in the face. While she did that I grabbed one guys collar and the others pant leg. I kicked the last guy face and the pant leg guy.
Arielle right hooked the guy I had by the collar, and I grabbed two guys she grabbed two and we slammed them both into walls.
They all fell at the same time. We pulled out our guns and shot them each in the back two times with blanks so they couldn't get up for a while.
'Apple, Shark, you okay?'
'Yeah we're good Blue Knight'
Arielle went to the door and I went back to my station. She got into the Artifact Room and, I watched her maneuver through the web of lasers.
'Blue Knight, she made it'
'Roger'
I folded my laptop and stuffed all my gadgets into my black bag.
'Alpha Team Make your way to the top.'
'Roger'
We got to the top, and Aurora and Phil was waiting, in the Heli. We all climbed in and I told Phil, "Roll out!"
We left with a successful mission. We were told to rendezvous with Natas and Nevaeh at the Hilton. We flew until we were in the same flight path as a news-copter. I told Phil, "Left, go left!"
He swerved and I almost fell out of the Heli. Ella grabbed me and pulled me back in.
We flew towards the top of the Hilton where there was Natas and Nevaeh. I grabbed the small pouch and jumped out of the Heli onto the mat. I ran over to them and gave them the small black pouch.
Then I heard gunshots. We all ducked, except Natas didn't duck he was shot, and fell, dead. Nevaeh started to cry and I was startled I grabbed the pouch and her and ran. Aurora through down the ladder and I heard more gunshots. My arm felt heavy.
I turned around to find her dead to. I grabbed the ladder, not taking my gaze off of her and we flew away. I didn't climb up the ladder until we were at a distance where it was safe.
What was so important in this pouch that they had to kill for it.
I finally climbed the ladder and everyone asked what happened. I told them, "They were killed in cold blood in an instant."
I sat in silence until we reached home base, which we called the boot. I jumped onto the helipad and climbed down the ladder.
I went straight to Oversight. There was Jeff and Ed, Ed was gonna be torn, I thought.
Natas and Nevaeh were his recruits, they were found at 16, in the streets.
I walked over to him and delivered the bad news.
I was shocked and went to his office in silence. Jeff made me write a full overview of what exactly happened.
After that Ella and I went back to our apartment.
We ate our peanut butter and jelly sandwiches in silence.
I thought today was quiet day after the last gunshot. Then the phone rang, I thought again, the irony.
Ella answered it. She said, "Hello?" Then her facial expression changed completely. She had a look in her eye, I rarely see, fear.
She threw the phone and I asked her what happened.
Her voice cracked, "It was the Covenant, they said, that was just our first warning."
