Harry loves baking. It's a hobby that he's not very vocal about but he absolutely adores it. Whenever Cal's was he'll make him brownies and talk to him about life. Sometimes he'll even let Cal help him.
Ethan and Josh are obsessed with chocolate chip cookies, so in true Harry fashion he'll randomly make a batch of cookies and take them to the studio or shoot with him.
He makes strawberry cupcakes for Vik and red velvet for Tobi. He even went as far as learning how to make profiteroles for JJ ANF in all honesty Simon loves whatever he makes.
So now Harry is getting out of bed at quarter to 6 on a Thursday morning. It's his and Simons 1 year anniversary and he wants it to to be special, so he's going to make a cake. Nothing too complicated, just a simple sponge cake.
Simon stirs in the bed once Harry stands up. He almost wants to get back in beside the older because Simons so warm and his and Cal's flat just isn't. But then he thinks of how big Simons smile will be when he sees the cake. And before he knows it, he's in the kitchen.
That's one the reasons he begged Simon to stay over at his tonight. He knows where everything he needs is and that if Cal hears him in the kitchen he'd leave him be.
He starts baking just a bit after 6. Plays some music just so it's not that quiet. Everything goes fine, he takes his time just enjoying the moment. He cleans up and scrolls through twitter for a bit as the cake bakes.
He's cutting strawberries to decorate with when he hears soft footsteps behind him. He instantly stood and prays to God that Cal just decided to have an early morning run.
"What are doing Harry?" The person asks softly and Harry turns to face a bleary eyed Simon standing in the doorway.
"Was just making you a cake," he mutters quietly. Simon looks at him confused as Harry's sighs shyly before saying "I'm making you a cake for our anniversary," louder this time.
He doesn't even have time to read Simons face before he's being wrapped into a bone crushing hug. "Thank you," Simon mummers into Harry's hair.
"It was meant to be a surprise but you woke up earlier than I expected," he admits as Simon pulls away from the hug, laughing.
"Well I was getting up to make you breakfast in bed but low and behold you weren't in bed," Simon grins as Harry returns to cutting strawberries.
"You can still make breakfast,". "Course I will Haz," Simon giggles wrapping his arms around Harry's waist. The brunet sighs happily and leans into the olders touch.
"Happy anniversary, I love you. And thank you for the cake, it's beautiful just like you!" Simon grins as Harry rolls his eyes playfully.
"You're such a melt you know that? But happy anniversary, I love you too!".
Cal walks into the living room an hour later to find them both passed out on the couch together. Two empty plates are sat on the coffee table and Cal can't help snapping a quick picture of the two.
He turns back to the kitchen and smiles when he sees the cake. Takes a picture of that as well and sends both pictures to the Groupchat.
JJ and Ethan have a field day obsessing over the pictures and Cal takes the playful punches from Harry when they wake up because he can see Simon grinning at the younger boy, his eyes full of love and Cal just knows that it's going to be forever.
{A wee short one today! I wrote this last week when the weather was lovely and I've not gotten a chance to post it yet
Also going back to school a week today and I'm so anxious but sure!
