The gardener had just finished planting a new species of plant, that the family had discovered in their last adventure, and Huey was eager to identify and classify it, whereas Dewey was just interested in naming it, which is why Huey was sitting alone outside the west wing of the manor. He stared at the large Bush with thorny vines and vibrant red poison dart flowers, and roughly sketched it into a blank page of his Senior Woodchuck Guidebook. He had asked his Uncle why he would plant such a dangerous plant in his backyard, but Scrooge had simply replied, saying that it was for 'security measures', which made sense since his security system had been hacked and destroyed a couple million times. And of course Dewey had said that the plant was a 'total Dewey', he didn't have a name for it yet, but it was a 'total Dewey'. It was so calm, so quiet, this is the type of stuff Huey needed with the stress of adventure riding on his shoulders..."Hey Hue."
Huey jumped nearly 6 feet into the air, so much for the peace and quiet. "Violet?" He turned, expecting to see the purple nerd to his red, only to see nothing but the bright green lawn stretching on for acres to come.
"Down here you binbone." The voice suspiciously sounded as if it was coming through a microphone.
He looked around, confusion clearly present on his face, "Hello?". Then it clicked. "OH MY GOSH, YOU SHRUNK, AND THEN CAME HERE TO GET HELP! Not the first time that's happened... IT MUST HAVE BEEN ONE OF GYRO'S INVENTIONS, RIGHT?" He screamed frantically, dropping his guidebook. He looked down in panic, trying to locate his friend, when he noticed one of his Uncle's robotic seagulls staring at him on the ground. It visibly rolled it's red glass eyes, Huey blinked in surprise. "OH NO! THE SLUMBER PARTY HAS ALREADY STARTED, AND I'VE FALLEN ASLEEP, SO YOU CAME TO WAKE ME UP FROM THIS WIERD LUCID DREAM AND-"
"Bro, your regular dreams are much weirder than this, so I wouldn't be so surprised. Also, you worry too much." The seagull squawked.
"Eh, it's a habit....." Huey said rubbing his arm. Suddenly his eyes widened. "Is it just me or did that seagull just talk?" Huey pointed at the electronic gull and looked around, expecting an answer.
The seagull facepalmed and flew up to the teenager's ear. "IT'S ME! VIOLET!"
Huey winced and covered his ear "Ok, jeez, I believe you! But how and why?"
The bird landed on his shoulder and shrugged "My Mom grounded me last week, today's my last day, and tomorrow I'm free to so whatever I want. But until then, I'm still not allowed to go out or use any electronics, so I used my secret 'just-in-case' computer to hack into Scrooge's security system -which, by the way, is really easy, someone needs to warn him about it."
Huey smirked "Or you're just too smart." The seagull playfully punched him gently on his neck. "So how long have you been doing this?"
Violet grinned from behind her screen. "All week."
"All week? Really? Without getting caught?"
"What can I say? I know how to make a secret compartment in my desk drawer, or like you said, I'm just too smart. Besides, I could use the fresh air, I can't think properly if I'm cooped up in my room."
"You're still cooped up in there though." Huey pointed out.
"Exactly my point. I need a change of scenery at least every once in a while, even if it's virtual."
"And how are your parents doing now?" Huey asked as he started making his way to the front door, with the seagull still on his shoulder.
"Yeah, they're fine. In a much better place than before, you know? Thanks for asking though."
