"Deva"

I heard my name being called.

My name is Vandhiyadevan. I was named after a famous messenger of the same name and now he is working as Royal advisor.

It is not like I don't like that name. It is such a honor to be named after him, but the thing is, it is too long. I prefer my name to be short. Somehow others also started to call me like I wish.

"Deva!"

I turned to find that it was minister calling me.

He nodded his head at me and went in. I followed his trail and reached King's chamber.

King Rajendran Chola was standing in the balcony and looking at his proud kingdom. He turned and looked at me and then turned towards the minister.

"Is it ready?" King Rajendran extended his hand towards Minister to get the scroll.

"Deva, this scroll contains very important detail. Give this to King Mahendra in Illangai. Will you?" He asked.

Before nodding my head I looked up.

Wait! Why is he asking? He never asked me. He usually orders me!!!

On seeing my confused look, he came forward and stood in front of me and patted my back.

"Deva, this is not small mission you used have before. This is suicide mission. King Mahendra will kill you after reading this. I have asked him to return the Crown. If he doesn't then I have mentioned that we will wage war."

He chuckled. "He will never agree to return the crown that easily, so definitely in frustration he will attack you and will opt for war. You should escape before he attacks you. Trust your instincts, as soon as you sense danger you have to escape."

I nodded my head and bowed.

"Incase he agrees to return the crown, we won't wage war. But time limit is 15 days. If you don't return within the time limit we assume that he hasn't agreed, and we will start from here, for the war. You get the depth of the situation right?" He asked me.

I didn't listen anything he mentioned as soon as I heard the word war.

War! Then what about her?  I need to save her.

As soon as I received the scroll I left immediately. Every moment I waste will endanger everyone's life especially hers.

Illangai here I come!!!

Just as I was traveling, my mind took me to the very first memory of meeting her.

I was carrying a message from my king to Illangai king. He informed me that Mahendra might give another message in return and asked me to get it.

As soon as I reached Illangai, I was standing in front of the palace. Suddenly a person came out and saw me. As soon as he saw me, he asked me to follow him. Finally we reached king's courtroom.

Minister pulled out the scroll from me roughly.

"What do we have here?" King asked and extended his hand.

"A message from Cholans, Majesty." saying that he gave the scroll.

Mahendra removed the Cholan seal and started to read the scroll.

I don't know what joke was written in scroll, Mahendra started to laugh.

"Rajendran is asking for the Pandiyans crown. And in return he saying that we can be alias." As soon as he said entire courtroom started to laugh.
