"You are getting married." My dad said.
"What!?!" I exclaimed,not believing my ears.
"You are getting married Anabelle." My mother confirmed.
"But why? You guys told me and Addy that we could get married to whomever we want." I argued.
"That was because at the time we didn't know about the betrothal mentioning you and Kayton." My dad said.
"Kayton?" I asked surprised.
"Yes Kayton,he is the one you will be marrying.
" No way." Kayton who have been silent the whole time said at the mention of him marrying me.
Guess he too is surprised.
"But you said about a betrothal." I remembered.
"Yes" Uncle David said.
"It was made by your grandfathers when they were kings.As you know your grandfathers were brother in laws.When me and Jayden were born we became cousins and when our children were born they became second cousins . So the family was drifting apart.Therefore in order to bring both the families closer they decided to make the betrothal just after you both were born."Uncle clarified.
" Alright.But since both of them are dead can't you break the betrothal? " Kayton asked.
"No we can't" Aunt Kathryn said.
"It clearly states in the Royal Book of Laws that a king cannot break a betrothal made by another king.Moreover, a betrothal can only be broken by the kings who made it."
"Okay,but what happens if we don't get married?" Kayton asked them.
"Then both our families lose their thrones and we will be exiled from our countries." My dad said.
I sighed knowing that there is no way out of it.
"Why are you telling us this now?" I asked.
"Because the betrothal states that you both should get married before you turn 17 and that is in a couple of months." My mother said.
"Alright. But this is too much for both of us , so I need to talk to Kayton in private,we will meet you for dinner ,so please excuse us." I said standing up and going out of the room ,motioning for Kayton to follow me.
I went to one of the guest rooms that was near and closed and locked the door after Kayton got in.
"So I guess we need to talk " I said facing him.
