Luke POV
After helping my mom putting the groceries away I walked into the livingroom and saw Hannah infront of the aquarium lookin at the fishes. I walked up next to her and knelt down on her hight. "What are you doing?" She looked at me with a sad face and asked "Is that fish dying?" she pointed at a fish laying on the ground barley moving. At this point I knew he would, but I couldn't say that to a seven year old. So I just said "No, he's just resting, don't worry" she looked at me and said sadly "Your lying, I know you are." I stood up and went to the kitchen to get a small bowl. Then I walked back to Hannah and grabbed the fishing net. With it I took out the fish and placed it in the bowl. He was moving a little bit more than before. So I showed it to Hannah "See, he's fine" I smiled. She smiled at me and took the bowl. She walked upstairs to her room with it.
-next day-
My alarm went off at 9am and I got up. Today was Christmas and my brothers Ben and Jack would arrive. When I walked past Hannah's room I heard a small sob. So I slowly opened the door and saw Hannah sitting on the ground while starring at the bowl. When she heard me enter the room she looked up at me and I saw tears falling down her cheeks. "He's dead" she said shakily. Then she looked back at the fish. I slowly walked over to her and sat down next to her. I saw the fish lifeless lying upside-down in the water. As Hannah started to sob again I pulled her onto my lap and hugged her from behind.
"Its all my fault" she suddenly cried. I imminently lifted her to the side, onto one of my leg so she could look at me. "What?" I looked at her in shock. How could she think it's her fault. "He's dead because of me" she whispered sadly while lookin down at her hands. I gently placed my hand on her thigh and said "Hannah, look at me" she didn't took her sight of her hands so I gently pulled her chin up so she had to look at me. "It's not your fault munchkin." She sniffed "But.." I interrupted her "No Hannah, it's not you fault. Why would you say something like that? Huh?" She tried to avoid my eyes and answered "Because I took him upstairs with me and he wasn't with his friends" Another tear slipped down her cheek. I hugged her tightly and whispered "You did the right thing, okey? I don't wanna hear you blaming yourself for it ever again, okey Hannah?" She nodded and wrapped her arms around my neck. I gently rubbed her back and after a while she calmed down.
After she calmed down I picked up the bowl with the dead fish and took Hannas hand. We both walked to the bathroom and I picked Hannah up and placed her on the counter. I then emptied the bowl into the toilet and flushed it. I glanced over to Hannah and she looked like she was about to cry again, so I lifted her down from the counter and said "Hey, Ben and Jack are coming soon, you don't want to greet them in your pajamas, do you?" I smiled at her as she looked at me with her eyes wide open. She shook her head and started to run to her room. I then also walked into my room and got dressed.
