I Have the Worst Date Ever

The next morning I was so cheerful that I think I might have convinced a few people that I had gone a little crazy.

I got up from bed, humming happily to myself, making my bed before Agnese even had to remind me.

"Mira! Are you okay?" Agnese asked, blinking at me. Of course she'd be concerned, here I was all giddy and such when last night I had locked myself in a bathroom to cry like I had watched Les Miserables or something.

"I'm positively wonderful!" I said. "Say Agnese, could you help me with something by the way?"

"What?" Agnese asked, still looking mildly concerned.

"Make me look girly and pretty." I said. "Like go all ham on it. I have no idea how to do it myself so I need a professional female here, think you can handle it?"

Agnese's face slowly crept into a smile. "Oho... somebody's found a boy she likes hasn't she?"

"I'm not telling." I sang.  In the back of my mind, Steven me was saying 'seriously!? Singing your conversations!? Are we in the Sound of Music!?'.  But today even my boy self couldn't stop girl me from acting like a completely blissful doofus.

"So, on a scale of 1 to 100, how cute and pretty we talking?" asked Agnese.

"400." I said.

"Done."

This was odd. I remembered thinking that throughout the day. I never went out of my way to be girly before. In fact I don't even think I'd want to be this girly. But when I thought about him in particular, I felt that he'd like this. If looking cute and pretty when we met tonight made him happy in some way, then I was willing to do it, even if it wasn't to my taste. Besides, thinking about the way he would smile to that made me happy enough to ignore the extra girl-ness I was putting on.

Hey, it was Christmas Eve right? A time for miracles.

That morning, when came to the breakfast table, Hellbi had to blink twice before looking at me, while Griffin and his fellow dwarves and party members all went silent with shock.

Agnese walked out in front of me, smiling as she held her hands out like a squire introducing the Queen of England.  "Allow me to introduce, Mira, morning flower edition. Notice the fashion designer's taste in clothing and splendor that allow even the most beautiful demon to become 10 times prettier by comparison. No applause necessary, when people order, Agnese Valentina delivers!"

I was wearing a flowing white summer dress that had a black ribbon tied around just under where my breasts would be.  There were white ribbons decorated with light colored flowers tied around my wrists, and my bare back was covered by a crisscrossing set of straps. On my head I wore a large white sun hat with a black ribbon and flowers adorning the inner brim.

As I walked in, feeling more nervous than I ever had, looking for Gaver at the table, I took off my hat to show off the sparkling butterfly ornament on my head.

Mira the Demon, girly to the max edition, maybe Agnese was a little too talented at this sort of thing.

Gaver wasn't there. Come to think of it, he rarely joined family meals didn't he?  I felt a bit disappointed about that. This look was for him after all. Well he'd see it later tonight at the very least.

"A spankin' good job!!" Griffin roared, clapping Agnese on the back. "You really brought out the beauty in her! And she was already beautiful to begin with! What do you say Robert!?"

Robert fell out of his chair and came to me on all fours. His eyes looked as if he believed he was looking at the face of God himself. "By Thordin's beard!!.. an angel.. I see before me an angel! No, a goddess! Truly a goddess!"
