Dax's POV

I froze as I heard the familiar voice and knew who it was.

"What happened, Dax? Surprised to hear from me after all this while?", the person laughed on the other end.

I knew that my call was being traced and I had to speak for a few more second so that the cops could trace the location.

I turned my car around and drove back towards the police station.

"Is it really you?", I asked.

"Oh, you seem to remember me. I might have thought a star billionaire like you would erase a poor orphan like me from his memory", the person's voice grew stronger.

"Hey, whatever it is you're talking about, let Jade go. Don't drag her into this", I said as I sped up, attempting to reach faster.

"Oh, so you know that it is something that needs to be settled", there was a chuckle from the other end.

"Is Jade alright? Please don't hurt her", I begged as I made it to the police station and rushed inside.

"Aw, so worried about someone you met barely a month ago?", the person mocked me.

I walked in to see Sheriff Singer and another cop with headphones looking at a graph on the computer.

"Keep talking", Sheriff Singer whispered and I nodded.

"Of course, she's my wife", I said slowly, trying to buy us some time.

"Too bad. You've always got everything too easily. It's time you know what it feels like to loose everything", the person spoke, followed by a  wicked laugh.

"No, please don't harm Jade. Not her", I spoke with anger and sadness.

"Got it", the other cop with the headphones spoke.

"Listen, you motherfucker. I will hunt you down and kill you if you even touch her", I yelled before hanging up.

"The location is about two hours away from here. We should leave now", Sheriff Singer said and I nodded.

"Harvelle, gather your team now and call for backup", he said to another cop as we rushed out towards the entrance.

"You can come with us in our vehicle", he said to me and I nodded.

We soon got into the vehicle and began driving towards where my Jade was.

I called Alex, who answered on the fifth ring.

"Hey brother, please tell me you'll found her", he spoke.

"Not yet, Alex. We're on our way to find her", I said.

"I wanna come too. I'm coming. Tell me where to come", he rambled.

I gave him the co ordinates and told him to inform our parents.

As soon as I hung up, I couldn't help but feel hopeful.

I felt hopeful that everything would be alright, but deep down inside, I feel that something very bad was about to happen today.

I hoped that I felt that way just because of my anxiety.

Alex's POV

It had been almost an hour since Dax had left to the police station.

Jade's parents along with her best friends had come over to our place.

The Okoye's couldn't stop crying as they too feared what we all feared.

James and Felicite were worried sick too.

I thought about going to the police station, but Dax called.

I was shook when he told me about the call from the kidnapper and who it is.

I kept a normal face because everyone's eyes were on me as I spoke.

Dax sent me the co ordinates and I knew it was going to be a long drive.

I hung up and told everyone what Dax just told me, except for who the kidnapper was.

"I gotta go, mom", I said as I kissed her forehead.

"Bye. Take care. I know everything will be okay. We will bring Jade home safely", I said to her parents who pulled me into a tight hug.

"I'm coming too", James spoke.

"Me too", Felicite said.

"No, kids. It's too risky", mom said.

"It's alright, Mrs Langford. Jade's our best friend. What good friends are we if we can't be there to help save her?", James spoke and Felicite nodded enthusiastically.

"Let's go", Felicite mumbled.

"No, you stay back Fizzy. Stay here with them", James motioned towards the Okoyes.

"No, Jamie. I wanna be there too", she whined.

He looked at her for a moment and nodded.

I knew letting them come with me was too risky and I shouldn't have let them come with me, but I thought of myself as a friend. I would probably do the same for my best friend.

They hugged Jade's parents and soon we were out, driving towards the location that Dax mentioned about.

I couldn't help but feel hopeful that we were one more step closer towards finding Jade, but I was freaking out at the same time.
