Jade's POV
Another two weeks had passed by, Dax was still the same.
It was another day of me following the same routine what I do almost every evening; reading a book to Dax.
I flicked through the next page of my book and continued reading out loud.
I looked at him in between a sentence and saw a movement of his lips.
I looked closer through the oxygen mask, but nothing happened.
I continued reading as it was probably my imagination.
I continued reading some more and felt him press against the back of my palm.
When I looked at our hands, there wasn't any movement.
I immediately hit the emergency buzzer which was behind Dax's bed.
Soon he started shaking his head.
He gasped for air even though he had an oxygen mask on.
The sight freaked me out and I feared for its outcome.
The door swung open and Dr Grey and Andrea rushed in.
"What happened?", he asked me.
Unable to speak I pointed towards Dax.
"I'm gonna call for more staff", Andrea rushed out.
Dax continued furiously moving his head and began shaking as Dr Grey walked towards the machines around him.
Andrea held my hand and slowly moved me out.
I was shaking by now.
"You stay right here and don't worry", she said as we stood outside the room watching a few more nurses rush in.
I nodded as tears filled my eyes.
I pushed my back against the wall, as I felt wobbly.
Tears streamed down my face as I feared what was happening to Dax this very moment.
Was he recovering? Would everything be alright?
Would he lose his memory? Would he forget about us?
Or would worse happen?
Well, only time could tell.
A few more agonising minutes passed by and Dr Grey walked out.
He looked at me and rushed away.
I wondered what was wrong this time.
Andrea walked out and told me that I could now see Dax.
I wiped my tears as I prepared myself for what would happen.
I inhaled deeply before walking in.
I swung the door open and saw a nurse adjusting the machines around Dax.
I looked at him and he wore a puzzled expression on his face.
The oxygen mask was taken out and his entire face was viable.
My heart dreaded this moment.
I walked closer to him and took his hand in mine.
His blue eyes swarmed with mixed emotions.
"Dax, I knew you'd be alright", I said as a tear streamed down my face.
He furrowed his eyebrows.
