I sighed and leaned against the back of the Slytherin houses couch completely lost. I was so thankful to have lunch this period. If I would've had to choose between Jada and Draco again I was going to lose it. I pulled my knees to my chest and leaned my head on them my long straight brown hair splaying out on either side of my knees. My thoughts were interrupted by the sound of the stone door opening and then closing. I lifted my head to see who had entered and recognized the white blonde hair of Draco. He looks straight into my brown eyes.
"There you are! Crabbe and Goyle and I have been looking everywhere for you!" Draco sighs coming to sit next to me.
"Here I am." I reply giving him a smile, "whatcha need?" I cock my head to the side and looked into his ice blue eyes.
"I need a normal person to talk to because let's face it Crabbe and Goyle aren't nesscesarily normal." He said looking back into my chocolate brown gaze. I smirk at him.
"Uh huh sure you just missed my amazing adorableness." I laugh as his cheeks turn a light pink before he stands up.
"Will you just join us at lunch? I'll even say please." Draco asks again giving me a slight puppy dog face. I sigh and cave in.
"I suppose and not because you want me to but because I'm starving." I reply he smiles at my response and holds out his hand to help me up.
"Hmm, you're way nicer to me than anyone else. Why is that?" I ask taking his hand and pulling myself up.
"You're not as dull as Crabbe and Goyle and you're not a Gryffindor. Plus you aren't an snivling Hufflepuff or a know-it-all Ravenclaw. Plus you don't insult me or sass me every time I try to have a conversation." Draco explains I smile.
"Why thank you!" I say cheerfully looping my arm through his, "now how about that lunch?" I ask as I start skipping with his arm still attached to mine towards the stone door. He laughs as the door opens and we skip out and down the hall. We come to a halt when we hear three voices headed in our direction. We turn around to see Jada, Harry, and Ron. The boys were discussing something in hushed whispers and didn't see Malfoy skipping, but Jada had. She was beside herself, caught in a fit of giggles. Malfoy turned a little pink, but played it off with an air of cold discontemt. Harry and Ron had finally looked up and saw us.
"Why, if it isn't the three musketeers," Malfoy sneered.
Jada gaped in mock hurt. "To heck with the Three Musketeers. To heck with GRYFFINDOR. We're the Three Gryffeteers!" And with that she looped arms with a very confused Ron, a bewildered Harry, and started skipping to the Great Hall. We stared off after them in confusion Draco opened his mouth then closed it as we saw Crabbe and Goyle coming down the hall doing cartwheels well in their minds cartwheels...Draco looked at me then at the boys then back at me.
"So how about that food?" He asked tugging on my arm that was still looped through his. I looked at Crabbe and Goyle and then to the Great Hall.
"Yeah, let's go!" I exclaimed following Draco thankful our arms still looped or I would've been left behind. We reach the doors and slip inside and walk to our table and sit down dishing our plates. As we were eating owls started flying in from the roof and dropping off letters and packages and news papers. Most likely the Daily Prophet. A letter and news paper was dropped off in front of Draco he pushed te news paper aside and starts opening the letter.
"May I?" I ask Draco placing a hand on the news print.
"Oh! Yeah go ahead!" He responds reading his letter while I look at the front page to see that Gringots had been broken into.
"Hey, Draco look at this." I whisper while still reading the article. Draco leans his chin on my shoulder as he reads the news. I flick my eyes to the Gryffindor table to see Ron glaring daggers at me and Harry looking shocked and Jada tilting her head in confusion. I look back at the paper and continue reading. Once Draco was finished reading he went back to eating. I roll the Daily Prophet back up and stand up. Draco looks at me confused I shake my head and leave the Great Hall. Draco close on my heels.
"Leanne! Wait!" Draco called after me I stop in my tracks tears threatening to leave my eyes. I blink them away not wanting Draco to see me weak. Once the tears were gone I turned to him. Worry shining in his blue orbs, "what's wrong?" He asks walking up to me and pulling me into a hug. I shake my head and wrap my arms around his waist breathing in his minty and musky scent.
"Come on. I'll take you back to the common room." Draco murmurs pulling away from me but keeping an arm around my shoulders as he led me back to our dorm. Once we reached the stone door Draco said the password and the door opened allowing us entrance. Draco led me to the couch where I plopped down quickly followed by Draco. I leaned against his shoulder gently blinking back tears.
"What's the matter?" He asked gently laying his arm around the back of the couch. I sighed bride replying.
"It's stupid it shouldn't even bother me." I confessed he turned his icy gaze to me.
"It can't be that stupid." He encouraged I bit my lip nervously like I normally do. I looked up at him and he gave me a small smile to continue.
"It's just. Jada. I did meet her on the train and we hit it off. But now that I'm Slytherin and she's Gryffindor we can't. I just feel bad for giving her I guess you could say the wrong impression." I murmured looking away from his blue eyes. He moved his arm from the back of the couch to my shoulders. Sending a flutter through my heart but I pushed it away.
"I understand. But you have to think of your house. That's why even Professor Snape questioned why you were with the Gryffindor's." Draco explained giving my shoulders a quick squeeze before standing up.
"Come on, I know a place we can go to get your mind off of them." Draco murmured pulling me up off the couch and out the stone door.
