I have been riding all afternoon and was so tired, I got off my horse and handed the reins to the stable boy , my mothers trusted lady in waiting approached me before I entered my bedchamber. It seems my mother has something of interest to talk about. I took a relaxing bath and went to see her in her chambers. She handed me a letter and I read out loud .
" Your esteemed majesties ,
Princess Kenna Valtor has been summoned to court of the crown prince Naveen the third with her retinue to be at Canvor before the Ball of Hellion .
Sincerely Ronan ."
"What is the meaning of this mother?." I was angry because I had never been away of this condition.
" Your future is secured my dear , you will not only be Queen but an Empress too, the world will bow at your feet ."she's delusional if she thinks I would agree to that without a fight , after all I would be crowned when am eighteen as Queen and she would bow before me .
"I never asked for this !."I retorted back with anger and impatience. I can't wed Canvor's Prince !, He is conceited , full of himself and not to mention popular with the ladies . How could she do this to me ? ,did my father knew of this before he died ? Or did my mother as always thought it would be best for me if I married the prince ?, is she trying to get rid of me ?. Multiple thoughts were running through my mind.
" I wanted to live here and rule beside the man I love not some hot headed prince in a strange land ."I bellowed and I saw anger in her eyes as she stood up .
"you will marry Naveen it is the will of the goddess that you the daughter of Aphrodite marry the son of Ares !! , and there is nothing you can do about so stop moping and prepare to leave ." She shouted at me and I cannot say am not intimidated by her , my mother can be scary when she chooses to be .

I stomped on my way to my chambers this woman had some nerves , My ladies in waiting Rose , Katherine and Becca entered my room , they helped me dress for bed , they left my room when they thought I was asleep , after sometime of thinking about my situation I drifted off to sleep. I woke up to find my clothes packed and my ladies waiting on me , I dressed in my finest gown and stepped out to see my mother waiting for me in front of my carriage.
Sky was there too with thirty more soldiers who looks like they are ready to battle. My mother gave me a quick kiss on my cheeks before I climbed onto my carriage. Rose was trying her best to make me smile but I couldn't , I am being traded as a brood mare by none other than my mother .
My departure to Canvor had been the most longest and boring trip I have ever been too .except it is not a trip because I won't be coming back home , I am leaving what I love behind to start a new future somewhere else in a foreign land.
Everything was moving too fast , something must be wrong why does he need to marry me in a few weeks ?, and how can he marry someone he doesn't know ?.
Upon reaching the beautiful city of Canvor , I was amazed by the beautiful landscapes and charming people we reached the magnificent palace of Balon that was built by the ancient Emperor of Canvor the palace still looked enchanting till this date .

I was greeted along with my retinue at the grand halls were my betroth sat on his throne watching me with intense gaze . The court jesters announced me in front of my soon to be court "my liege, ladies and gentleman of the court let me introduce you to the princess of Maldonia Kenna valtor the last descendant of King Regan the Just"
I curtsied before the prince and his mother . The Dowager Empress looks pleased but the prince I couldn't read His expression , he was emotionless he stood up from his throne , murmurs seized and he long strides as he was getting closer to me . As he drew nearer I realized he was very tall about 6'4 , broad shoulders, sharp featured with clean shaven face ,chiseled jaws  , with golden amber eyes , thick plump pink lips and jet black shoulder length hair .
He held my gaze as he moved closer to me and he walked passed me as he exited the hall without a glance . How dare he treat me like this , His mother ordered a few maids to tend to my needs as they showed me to my chambers . They maids run me a bath and I stripped naked as I entered the big bath tube , I felt relief as the lukewarm water soaked into my skin . I stayed there for a while and got out as the water begun to turn cold. Rose rushed to my side with a bathrobe , I sat in front of my dresser as Rose combed my auburn hair, I changed into my night dress and went to sleep .

The next day the palace was busy I heard murmurs and noises that's what woke me up from my slumber , it seems like I slept till noon , lunch was served as I took my seat at the small table in my chambers I was startled when I saw the Dowager Empress in my chambers I stood up to greet her but she dismissed me with a wave of her hand and I took a seat across from the table.
" this is not how a future Empress behaves ."She chimed , there is one thing I disliked and that was scrutiny, I was tired after the journey what did she expect?. But I had to be respectful towards her due to decorum's sake .
" I don't think your son wants me to be his Empress your majesty?."
"Don't mind him his just stressed with state affairs, please forgive his rudeness it won't happen again I promise."she sounds sincerely.
"I hope so "
"Tonight is the Hellion ball , you must attend it , it's time we show the world your alliance with my son."of course a chance to show the whole world that am sold off to this jerk .
"I'll make it your majesty "
"Good And please call me
Mother , you will be marrying my son soon "she was relieved thinking I would object but I couldn't or my mother would skin me alive .
" Yes mother " I smiled at her .
" that's what l like to hear now finish your lunch and prepare for the ball ."
She rose from her chair and gave me a kiss on my forehead.
I lounged in my chambers till it was sunset . My ladies were dressed and helped me with my gown it was sheer and Katherine begged me to wear it , it was lavender in color and my long auburn tresses curled loosely at the bottom. I made my way to the ball as  I started to descend the stairs the music stopped , I don't why but it stopped and Naveen who was busy conversing with some people turned to look at me when he realized his companions were watching me . His gaze was not of lust but of a young man who had been charmed by an enchantress, every step I took I felt anxious the whole court was watching my every movement.
"Don't let them see your fears , you are a valtor " , my mother's words keeps echoing in my head as I made it to the end of the stairs .
