In hindsight going to Jay probably wasn't the best idea that he could've had. There were plenty of other people he could've gone to, maybe one who he didn't see bleeding all over the floor a few hours early, like Cole or Zane or even Nya, but, unfortunately, Jay was one of his best friends.

They really shouldn't have been. They were practically opposites personality wise in a lot of ways, and Jay talked. A lot. More than any person that Lloyd had ever met before, even if he hadn't met a lot of people in his life (his social group is almost embarrassingly small, but he doesn't like to think on that too often). So Jay, with his shaky hands and random spurts of panicked rants and hopeless romantic tendencies should've been having Lloyd popping pills for headaches instead of having him seek him out for conversations.

Now Jay was annoying, there was no doubt about that in his mind. Lloyd rolled his eyes more talking to him than anyone else, but, he was the kind of person who won't judge anyone for anything. Someone could tell him he murdered a guy and he was in his trunk and Jay, as long as that person was on his good side, would grab a shovel and probably go help hide the body. Which should be concerning since he was one of the main protectors of Ninjago, but it just so happened to work out for Lloyd.

The brush of the forest was still more dense than it normally was, which wasn't a good thing since that meant the range for his pulses of energy was getting farther, so getting back to base took much longer than it needed to, and it probably didn't help that his body was still trying to get his power back under control since his mind certainly wasn't going to be helping.

Kai probably was back already, which meant that if he went through the front door (like a normal person) he would most likely run into Kai and either he would pull Lloyd aside and start the conversation all over again or they would make long and awkward eye contact until one of the had to blink. Neither seemed practically enjoyable, and when was Lloyd ever normal, so he crept along the side of the building to where he knew Jay's room was.

The window was locked, because when was Lloyd's life ever easy, and smaller and higher than Lloyd could just lift his arms up and reach, maybe about nine feet up. So Lloyd began digging in his pockets, cursing under his breath for wearing sweatpants (he also realized he forgot his shirt back at the training area which caused him to curse even louder) before finding a paper clip, something he never left his room without.

Lloyd huffed out a breath and clenched his fist around the unfurled clip, he could make the jump and get through the window, he had years of practice at school with doing that, but he had to hold onto the window and pick the lock at the same time which is going to be what's the pain in the ass with this situation. He groaned, rolled his neck, crouched down, and jumped up, grabbing the edge of the window with the hand not holding the clip.

It was much harder not having anything to grip onto besides the slight edge of brick from the indent of the window, but he flexed his arm and pulled himself up, almost like a one armed pull up, and moved his other hand to start with the lock.

His entire body tensed, and he swore if he hadn't been working out in secret for the past few months he wouldn't be able to do this without any power induced strength. When the lock finally clicked and  he slid the window open he wasted no time to grab the inside edge of the window with his other hand, and shimmy his way (when did his shoulders get so much wider holy shit) through the window, swing his body around and land on the ground with a crouch.

Perfect timing to, as Jay just walked into the room as he landed on the ground, eyes wide and mouth still  partially biting down on some strawberry popsicle. He took a bite as he stared at him, chewed, and swallowed, without breaking eye contact with him.
