"Oh and Lloyd?" He turned his face towards Lloyd's with such earnest and open eyes that Lloyd was pretty sure they were about to have another emotional breakdown, "What you did at the building. That's what I'm most afraid of."
One month later.
Lloyd stretched his arms above his head, feeling the pull and twisting of his body without the aching and pain for the first time in weeks. He felt a slight twinge in his side, where his stitches used to be, but that was his own fault for that.
Maybe a week after the talk with Kai, the stitches had started to bother him, the wound had closed so there was no true need for them anymore, but he didn't want to be a pain and ask Zane. So he went to his bedroom with the first aid kit, and painstakingly took the stitches out.
He messed up a few times, he knew how to do it of course, he had needed to know how from years of getting wounds without any assistance, but the angle of it was difficult for him to get to, especially when it got to the back. So he started bleeding a little bit again, but he just wrapped a bandage around it and went on with his day with minor amounts of pain. Unfortunately, the next morning Zane had taken him to the living room to take the stitches out.
Let's just say, everyone started panicking for a solid hour when they saw he had already taken them out.
But he was cleared and most of his broken bones were healed, he had a few new scars to add to his collection, but that happened on almost every mission, so it wasn't that big of a deal. Now, he should be in good enough shape to go out and not worry about collapsing or being thrown into a migraine.
Lloyd shook his body out, and looked around his room for something to wear. Unfortunately, it wasn't appropriate to wear excessively baggy pajamas out to the city, so he had to actually put on clothes and look decent.
Ripped jeans, grey t-shirt, black leather jacket, combat boots, and a beanie later (he was not going to try and fix his hair), he had grabbed his phone and wallet and was walking through the hallways to the garage.
"Lloyd, where are you heading off to?"
Zane. Okay, he could do Zane. He spun on his heels and turned to Zane with a small smile, hands in his pockets to keep himself from wringing his hands. The team had been increasingly protective of him ever since the bomb attack, they barely let him out of their sights, which was fine, sweet even, but he also wanted to be able to go get a drink of water at three a.m. without at least two others hearing him leave his room and follow him out.
What was going to even happen? A gang of muggers would come and try to shank him in a kitchen, miles away from civilization and escape? He didn't know, but it was kinda getting annoying.
"Oh, uh, hey Zane, I was just heading to see Skylor."
"Skylor? I didn't know you two were close."
Lloyd nodded, and moved his hands from his pockets to cross his arms.
Skylor, surprisingly, was actually a really close friend of his. Mostly because he didn't have many friends to begin with, but, she would still be pretty high up there even if he did. Maybe it was because they both lost their dads around the same time or they both know how it feels to be forced into the villain role because of said dads. Or maybe it was because they both have darker sides that they're afraid to show to anyone.
Either way, she was awesome, and she promised free noodles, so Lloyd had to go.
"Yeah, we kept in contact after the whole Chen thing so I'm heading out to see her at the noodle shop."
"Oh, I see. I think that's good for you, you know, having some friends outside of us."
"Uh huh, do you have any friends outside of us, Zane?"
