She landed daintily outside the warehouse where she left her brother, 60 Amherst Drive. She entered and walked toward her brother's cage. "How do you do, darling?"

"What do you want from me, Wendi?"

"Cold, are we? Have a bit of sympathy, I am your sister, after all."

"Are you though?"he snapped, "Would the old Wendigo kill an innocent person in cold blood? You've changed, and you're certainly not any sister of mine anymore." His  once warm brown eyes were now cold, and they flashed with anger. Obviously he still wasn't over his stupid girlfriend.

What have I been telling you, love? He's no good for you.

"I know, Jazzie. You made it all very clear the day I left. I'm just a villain. Nothing more, nothing less." I know he hates me; I simply no longer care about him.

His eyes seemed to soften a bit, "I was only angry that day; I didn't mean it. We can fix this. Just let me go, please."

He doesn't mean it. He just wants you to let him go. Hurry it along, we only have half an hour before the fire reaches this building. You're going to need to hurry this along a bit.

"It's too late," she answered, turning away. "I closed of the city and set fire to the forest. It won't be long before it reaches here, and it won't stop until the city has been burnt to the ground."

"What do you mean, 'closed off the city?" The concern in his eyes was quite evident.

"I mean no one comes in, and no one comes out. Everyone is trapped in a bubble until the fire burns out."

"Wendi, we can stop this," he pleaded, "Let me out. I can help you." His eyes lost the cold look; he almost seemed genuine...

Liar

"Shut up," she flew up to the landing and stood before a window overlooking the city. "It's a pity he won't win this time," she mused as she ran her finger along the railing. Intellectually, she knew Jasper was locked away not a hundred feet behind her, yet she still felt as though he would come bursting through the wall of thick black smoke moving steadily toward her at any moment. "I truly do hope you enjoy watching the world burn, Jaz," she spat, sparing a swift glance over her shoulder to capture one last glimpse him, but Wendigo didn't see what she expected.

She assumed she would see his usual grim, determined, brooding look, but it was different this time. He looked-- broken.

He's broken! It's exactly what we wanted. We broke him; we win.

Wendi quickly shook her head, "No this isn't the way things are supposed to be."

Jasper mumbled something, but she couldn't quite make out what he was saying. She wondered if it was important--

You see, Wendigo, he's just a pathetic boy. Remember when he kicked you out? This is exactly what he deserves. He the one who made it this way, so you are under no obligation to save him.

"You're right," she stated as she broke the glass window and snapped open her wings. "This is what he deserves, and it's all over now." Glass shards flew out into the night. She leaped from the window ledge and flew away, her dark wings barely distinguishable from the blackened sky. "We win."

Stars twinkled brightly against the night sky as Wendi landed in an open field far away from the warehouse. She had won, she knew that for a fact, and yet she felt something. It wasn't victory, even though she was in the process of burning down the world as we speak.

It was still yet a long way from Morfraun's lair, but something inside her forced her to stop. Somewhere deep down she felt an emotion she didn't quite recognize. It was-- regret. She felt regret.

What is there to regret? You conquered the world! Everything you've ever wanted is about to come to pass! There is nothing to regret.

"I shouldn't have left him," Wendigo mumbled, looking back toward to the city, "I have to save him."

No, you don't. You've spent your life trying to be better than him, and now it's done. We win.

"I guess you're right."

Good girl. Now let's finish what we started. On to Morfraun, then it will be over.

"Yeah, it'll be over." With that, Wendigo unfolded her wings and flew ahead of the fire and toward the Western edge of the town. The offices where the most ruthless of the villains had made his home.
