* MONTH 2, 2nd week, DAY 3 (BEDROOM | 9:47 PM)
"Chara... Entertainment is needed or my energy supplies... it's depleting..." You uttered a dramatic wail and slumped to the ground. "No..."
"Sometimes, I don't know which one of us is older: you or me." Chara sighed at your act. "Don't you have homework to do?"
"But I'm lazy..."
"I'll count to 6 for you. 1..." As soon as she started counting down, your body moves to the desk and sits down, like clockwork. You have a system: when there's something you don't want to do, you slowly count to 6. Usually, by the fifth count, your body gives up and just do what it has to do. It's a fortunate habit to have, you can say.
As you worked through your tasks, you can faintly hear someone, or something calling for help. You ignored it, assuming it's you hearing voices.
"Help..." You heard it loud and clear this time.
"Oh, so it wasn't just me." Chara exhaled. You walked outside and crept through the hallway. You came to a spiral stairway, the voice growing louder as you got closer. The uneven brick walls give off an eerie feeling and the moonlight cast as the cherry on top.
"...Over here!" Before you could attempt to climb the stairs, Lucifer appeared in front of you. Where did he come from?
"Rubina." He stopped your legs from moving, physically moving; magic, of course.
"Stop right there. What's beyond the staircase is not for humans; it's dangerous." He frowned, red eyes looking at you menacingly. "Go back to your room."
"But I heard someone yell 'help' loud and clear." You protested. "Did you hear it?" Lucifer shook his head. Maybe you're hearing things- but Chara heard it as well...
"You must've been hearing things, Rubina. Good night." He crudely cuts your thoughts, ushering you into your room, and closing the door in a hurried manner.
Your suspicions grew by 100%. "He's definitely hiding something."
"Yeah, no shit." You gave her a look of disapproval, which she ignored. "If I could leave your body- wait, what's the furthest I can go?"
"About 3 feet, the last I remembered- not very far." You answered. Chara sighed sadly.
"Not much I can do then."You gloomily sat on your chair again; doing these tasks with this in your brain is going to be a drag.
At quarter-past 10, you finished. You're relieved that's gone smoother than you thought it would. You hurriedly pack up your school things, brush your teeth, change into my PJs, locked your door (you can never be too cautious), and slipped into the covers.
Then, the candles blew and darkness filled the room. Lucifer knocked on your door. "Rubina?"
"Hmm?"
"Oh, well then. Good night."
"Good night."
"..."
"So, I think we'll just stay up until midnight, then go to the staircase and climb the stairs. How about it?" You suggested.
Chara agreed. "Yeah, sounds sensible. Guess we'll be chatting for the next 2 hours."
* 12:03 AM *
You're groggy, not going to be able to wake up for school tomorrow, but awake nonetheless. Your D.D.D. tells you it's 12 o'clock, and which means you have to go to the staircase.
Making the smallest cracks and noises possible, you quickly located the staircase, but alas, all your efforts are to waste, for Lucifer is still there on the staircase, standing with his arms crossed. He noticed you. Shit.
"Rubina, you're still up?" He asked, pensively eyeing you. You nodded sleepily, making sure to rub your eyes for extra measures.
"Couldn't sleep. Do you know where the kitchen is? I seem to forget." Lucifer smiled frigidly, assuring you that he's seen through your actions.
"Would you like me to get you some milk to put you into an extremely deep sleep? In other words, leave, Rubina." His flaring red eyes flashed, meeting my terrified brown ones. I can't lose face now, can't I?
"But I really can't sleep, so can you show me the kitchen?" Lucifer sighed, clearly annoyed.
"Down the hall, go straight, then to your left. Good night, Rubina." You greeted him good night back and head into the kitchen, actually getting some milk.
As you poured the milk, your thoughts began to muddle again. So he is hiding something, or he wouldn't be keeping guard like that... I need to find out how to distract him...
You took a sip of the milk. It feels like normal milk, thank goodness. Creamy, slightly cold, and it slid down the throat easily. I have two options: Mammon and Levi. Mammon trusts me, so he's easier to ask.
Determination coursed through your body and veins. Curiosity killed the cat, but satisfaction brought it back, they say.
Just watch Lucifer. That secret of yours won't be so secret by the end of the week. I guarantee it.
(I just realize this, but the MC sounds like she about to murder someone; I apologize.)
