Y/n's POV

I was laying in bed, extremely bored, waiting for Maihua to FaceTime me on my computer. We have both been busy lately and this is the first time in a week that we will be able to FaceTime again. Not seeing her beautiful face for so long is painful.

I sighed as I looked at the time. 7:34pm. She said 30 minutes that she was heading home. I was slowly growing more and more impatient.

*ring ring*

I jumped with excitement as I heard my computer go off. When I saw that it was Maihua calling, my smile grew even bigger. I quickly answered as I sat up in bed. I set my computer up on my dresser as Maihua did the same.

"Hi Bubba, sorry for making you wait. I decided to take a shower and change before I answered so I don't have to do it later with you on call." She said with a smile.

"I already did all that and it's no problem. As long as we can talk then I'm happy." I said smiling at her.

"So how was your day bug?" She asked as she ran her hand through her hair.

"It was pretty good. Work was a lot of fun per usual but getting home was pretty boring. I have nothing to do here." I said looking around my room.

"Yeah of course. You live in a pretty bug and decent house alone, I'm surprised you haven't been robbed or kidnapped yet." Maihua laughed. I crossed my arms and slightly laughed.

"Guess that shows how much you would care if either of those things happened." I said with a small smirk.

"That's a lie and you know it. Why don't you just get a dog? You have enough time and money and you always talk about how you want one." Maihua suggested.

"I know but I don't know what breed if dog to get. All I know is that I want a rescue." I said thinking again about the breed of dog I want.

"How about tomorrow on your day off, instead of talking to me for the entire day, go to an animal shelter with Liam and Carson. Then you can choose what dog you want and prepare for it." Maihua suggested again with a smile.

"But then I can't talk to you for the entire day like we planned. What if it cuts into our dinner date?" I whined, really not wanting to ruin our plans.

"Bubba, if you go earlier in the day then it won't. And for all either of us care, we could push the dinner date to a later time. We both know that we aren't going to sleep till some time past midnight." Maihua said laughing a bit. I to on what she said into some thought.

"I guess you're right. Let me text them to see if they are up to it." I said taking my phone out of my pocket.

"You know those two boys are up for anything when it comes to being able to see an animal." Maihua said laughing. I laughed along with her as I pulled of the group chat that I have with the two boys.
