Y/n's POV

I am currently having a very bad panic attack. The weather app did not tell me that it was going to storm tonight, especially not this hard. I would have prepared myself so much better for this if I knew. I would have called my best friend, Maihua, by now but it's extremely late and I don't want to wake her up. Yes, she did tell me to call her whenever I needed. She made sure to emphasize whenever but I would still feel bad for waking her up. My eyes darted to my phone when I saw my screen light up.

King👑: My momma senses are tingling and I feel a disturbance in the atmosphere. Are you up right now? Are you okay? Why didn't you call me sooner?

Not ookay :My Child💕

King👑: I'm calling you

Within a few seconds, Maihua's face popped up and she was face timing me. I accepted and sat my phone against the pillow so that she could see me. My light was already on so she could clearly see my face.

"Have you been up the entire time?" She asked.

"Y-yeah. I c-couldn't sleep." I mumbled out.

"I'm not gonna scold you, you don't need that right now." She said.

"Thanks mom." I said with a slight smile.

"Glad that you can still smile in this state. Where is the elephant I got you? Can you hold that for me?" She asked. I nodded and turned around to grab it. I turned back around and cuddled into it. "Okay, we are gonna do your tasks. Name 5 things you can see."

"I see m-my pillow, my-." I was cut off by loud thunder. I squeezed my eyes shut as more tears rolled down my face.

"Come on, you can do it. Ignore the thunder. You have 4 more left." She coaxed. I slightly opened my eyes and looked around the room. "You can barley see like that, open your eyes all the way. It's okay, nothing can nor will hurt you." I opened my eyes all the way and looked around again.

"I-i um uh I see my tv... " I started.

"Yes yes, you're going great sweetheart." She cheered lightly. Sweetheart? Since when did she start calling me that?

"I um, see my uh blanket." I said.

"You're doing so good baby, two more." She smiled. Baby?! Does she even realize that she started calling me pet names? Is she doing this purposely? If so, fuck her cause it's making me fall for her more.

"I see my elephant and I um see you." I finished.

"That was great, now 4 things you can touch." She said. As I was about to answer, lightning striked and it was followed by very loud thunder. I swear it shook the house. "I'm coming over. You shouldn't have to deal with this alone." She started to get out of bed.

"N-no! I'm o-okay! Y-you don't n-need to come here. I'm o-okay." I stuttered out. I don't know why I even tried. With my face burried in the elephant, my entire body shaking, and the fact that I can't get a sentence out without stuttering just shows her that I'm not okay.

"You can barley get a word out without stuttering. I'm coming over. Continue with your tasks, 4 things you can touch." She said. I watch as she threw on a shirt and jacket and practically ran out of her house.

"M-my elephant." I mumbled out.

"Yes, that's one. Three more baby, come on, you can do it." She encouraged. She was starting up her car and driving to my house at this point. I squeezed the elephant tighter as more lightning and thunder hit. I squeezed my eyes shut, wishing for this to be over soon.

"I-i can't. I can't I can't focus." I mumbled out.

"Baby, yes you can. You don't need to open your eyes for this one. Just feel around and focus on my voice." Maihua said as she coaxed me through the situation. I slowly let one hand go of the elephant and moved it around my bed.

"M-my sheets." I said quietly.

"What about them sweetheart?" She asked.

"I c-can feel them. I um can a-also feel m-my bed frame." I stuttered out.

"You are doing so good right now baby, one more. Just one more and we can move on." She said.

"My phone." I said lastly. I slightly opened my eyes and saw that she was pulling into my complex. I let out a small sigh of relief and closed my eyes again.

"Great, now 3 things you can hear." She said.

"You're soothing voice." I said with a small smile. She let out a small chuckle when I answered.

"Yes, you can hear my voice. Two more." She said. I heard her fumble with her keys and then get out of her car.

"Um, the rain." I said. It's been awhile since the last lightning strike. The thunder I have been hearing has been pretty quiet. I'm hoping it stays like that.

"One more." She said. I could hear her unlocking my front door and coming inside.

"I can hear you running up the stairs." I said slightly laughing.

"I had to get here as soon as possible." She laughed as she hung up and opened my door. She threw her jacket to the ground and crawled into my bed beside me. I turned to face her and she pulled me into her chest. "You don't seem to be shaking as much. Your stutter went away and you're barely crying anymore. Ready for the next one?"

"Yeah." I said muffled by her chest.

"2 things you can smell." She said.

"The rain and your cologne." I answered.

"Very good baby, 1 thing you can taste." She said as she started to rub my back.

"The ice breaker I had earlier." I answered.

"You did so well, I'm so proud of you." She said as she pulled me closer.

"I have a question." I said as I looked up at her.

"And I have an answer." She smiled down at me.

"Since when did you call me sweetheart and baby?" I asked as my cheeks slightly turned pink.

"Oh uh sorry, those just kinda slipped out." She said as she looked the other way.

"No no, it's okay. I actually kinda liked it." I mumbled as I looked back down.

"Maybe I should call you pet names more often then." She smiled.

"Well maybe you should." I said letting out a small giggle. For the rest of the night we talked and watched cartoons. The storm never stopped but it definitely calmed down a lot. Being in Maihua's arms made it very hard time freak out. It also made it very hard to not fall asleep. Within the first 2 hours, I fell asleep in her arms.

I find it funny how I have so many topics of imagines for this but when it comes to actually writing it out I start to draw a blank. I've also been wanting to post more often on here and my other stories but school has been kicking my ass so um yeah.
