jimin didn't really know what to expect when he pulled up to haneul park. it was a bright summery afternoon. the scene was beautiful. grass, trees, a field, a bright blue sky littered with puffy white clouds. a great place for a photo shoot honestly. he walked through the pathways, admiring the natural scenery around him when he spotted a group of people he was familiar with. or at least somewhat familiar.

he knew jungkook to say the least. the rest of the people were a camera crew that's done a few of jimin's own photo shoots, but he didn't really know them personally. there were at least seven other people, someone to style him, two with cameras, the one who edited the photos to be 'instagram' or 'magazine' ready, and then the rest were working with lighting. despite being natural sunlight, they had to do a few things to reduce glare from the camera lens.

like he told jungkook through the text, he was going to show up. he approached the set a little closer, standing off to the side while jungkook pulled off multiple poses for the camera. the camera directors gave him pose ideas and he did them accordingly. the lights flashed as his pictures were being taken. it seemed like he didn't notice jimin yet, so the older just went off to the side somewhere and distracted himself with his phone.

"take five!" one of the camera directors said. everyone indulged in drinks from a cooler and engaged in conversations among themselves. jimin looked up at the familiar words, watching as jungkook grabbed a water bottle covered in condensation. mid sip, jungkook made eye contact with jimin, who smiled sarcastically.

after taking a deep breath, the younger slowly made his way over to jimin. jimin met him about halfway walking up on his own. and now they stood face to face.

"so you were serious about coming?" jungkook asked, while he looked at his phone.

"did you think i wasn't?" jimin asked, earning a shrug from the younger.

"why did you want to come here anyway?"

"hmm, to make a proposal."

jungkook raised an eyebrow at the statement. he tilted his head to the side, looking confused, like jimin had just said something incredibly stupid.

"jimin, we aren't even dating and you're trying to propose? i'm honored but—"

"your stupidity on the internet translates to real life, i see," jimin pointed out. "you know that's not what i meant you, asshole," he said, pushing shoving jungkook over. the younger laughed, knowing he got the other annoyed enough. it was something he took pride in doing eventually. teasing and joking around, it became his thing.

"so then what did you mean? since you're obviously not proposing to me..." jungkook rubbed the back of his neck, faking his disappointment. he got an annoyed eye roll from jimin. he then proceeded to take a sip of water from his bottle.

jimin rolled his eyes and let out a sigh. "what if we started dating?"

jungkook spit out his water to the side at the words that seemed to roll so easily from jimin's tongue. jimin watched with a blank expression as jungkook struggled to clean himself up.

"pardon me... but did you just ask me if we should start dating?" jungkook asked, wiping the excess water from around his lips.

"do you have really bad hearing or are you just that stupid?" jimin crossed his arms and shifted his weight to one leg.

"uhm..." jungkook pursed his lips together while knitting his eyebrows. he was feeling a wide array of emotions mainly consisting of confusion and nervousness. he bit the inside of his cheek slightly while thoughts raced his mind. what was jimin getting at?

"like you know... start a prank, prank our entire fan base, wouldn't that be fun?" jimin laughed, snatching jungkook's water bottle from his hands and sipping from it. "it's hot out here," jimin fanned his shirt.

"i'm... confused," jungkook scratched his head.

"you know... what if... we fake dated for clout?"

"faked dated... for clout?"

"not clout per se..." jimin bit his lip, realizing that saying it was for clout sounded a little more low than his intentions. he really did love his fan base and any one who decided to give his social profiles a chance. so he wasn't trying to chase after a larger following. he really just wanted to spark something in the internet, something funny. something everyone could look at and be like 'haha, we were fooled.'

"think of it like a prank... yeah a prank on our friends mainly since they would be the ones around us the most, like a prank to... add onto the prank."

jungkook smirked faintly, his mind slowly becoming attached to the idea. he understood exactly what jimin was trying to say this time. maybe pulling a prank on their friends, along with their entire fan base wasn't the worst idea park jimin's ever come up with.

"what do ya say? wanna fake date for clout?"

"fake date for clout? i'm down."

and they shook on it.

a/n: chapters like this aren't written seriously! since this book isn't based on what they're doing off social media, i wasn't going to pour my heart and soul into writing them, this is just a way to progress the story :')
