A/N
Yes. I am a lazy bum who has been afflicted with a serious case of writer's block... I ask for your forgiveness for it has been well over a month since I last updated.
Oops.

I want chicken nuggets. But I ate all of my gluten free ones. So now I don't have any. So I will cry.

Oliver POV

"You good there, bud?" Celeste asked gently, coming up beside me. She was giving me a concerned look, one that made me think of Mother.

But than, everything made me think of my mom these days.

"Yeah. Yeah I'm fine," I lie, knowing full well the doctor won't buy it for a second. She's known me too long and too well to believe my crap.

"It's Amara, isn't it? You're still in love with the girl."

To deny or not to deny....
Yeah, no point in denying.

I nod tightly. "I know it was years ago, and we were practically kids... just kinda hurts she doesn't even remember. Remember what we had."

"Oliver, how would you have described her back then? Not in depth. Just a few words."

"Sweet. Funny. A daredevil. Careless. Bouncy and energetic. Mischievous. At times a little bit arrogant, but in a lovable way." It makes me smile, remembering how she would toot her own horn, throwing around cocky comments every now and then.
If someone tried to insult her they would quickly be begging for mercy. She knew her worth. And that was something to admire.

"How would you describe her now?"

It takes a moment for me to think of the answer. I haven't really been reunited with her that long but it's obvious she's not the same.
"Tough. Still won't take anybody's shit. Still mischievous, but with a stern layer of seriousness. I think she's less sure of herself. Less happy. Sorrowful, almost. No longer as reckless..."

"The girl you knew has changed. You've seen the footage of how it all went down. The pain she endured, physical and mentally. It changed her. You have to accept this."

"I can accept it. She's still herself... just older. Wiser, even."

Never thought I'd see the day when  the words "Amara" and "wise" would ever be used in context with eachother.
Than again, I never thought I'd see the day when cities fell to the ground in mere seconds, either.

"And when she was going through all those events that changed her, all those trials, who was there with her?"

"Chelsie."

"And......?"

"Peter," I grind out through a clenched jaw.

"Exactly. Whether you like it or not you have to accept that, right now at least, Peter is who she is romantically connected with. Not you. She's happy with him. If you love her, you will have to learn to respect that."
