"Alright bye Julia."  I waved to her before walking to my dorm.

"See you, text me for when we could start."  She called back. I nodded before turning the corner.

I went into my dorm building and went towards my dorm.  I opened the door  to see Kayla and her boyfriend, Drew making out.

"Okay, I'm leaving!"  I said very loudly, hoping that they'd stop.  They both pulled apart and looked at me.

"Thanks for killing the mood."  Kayla said bitterly.

"Anything for you baby."  I smirked.  Drew packed up his things and quickly left.

"Whatever but tonight I was invited to a party and I want you to go."  Kayla told me excitedly.

I raised an eyebrow at her, "Why me and not your boyfriend?"

"Because Drew can't and it's an hour away and I don't want to go alone."  She pleaded.

"Who is it for?"  I questioned, why the hell is she going to a party an hour away?

"An old friend of mine, she just moved into her new house and it's a little house warmer."  Kayla explained, "So please go with me, you'll like my friend."

"Fine, I'll go."  I reluctantly agreed.

We we pulled up to the house, about a mile from my old house, and apartment. I teared up at the memories I had from there.  I haven't seen my parents in over two years or talked to Dalton since he left me on the floor in our apartment eighteen months ago.

"Whose party is this?"  I questioned as we got out of the car.

"My friend Jessica and her husband."  She answered while knocking on the door, my stomach formed a knot, it couldn't be.

The door opened and we were greeted by a guest I didn't know so I let out a little sigh of relief, thank god I didn't have to face those two if it was their party.  I looked around once we got inside, there weren't any familiar faces.

"Let's go find Jessica, I want to congratulate her."  Kayla said pulling me into a sea of guests.  We reached the kitchen and I saw him, Dalton.  His eyes caught mine and I froze.  We both haven't seen each other in over a year, he had more tattoos, his hair was shaved on the sides and his eyes weren't as bright as they used to be.  I quickly turned away hoping he didn't recognize me, I dyed my hair auburn and changed quite a bit, and I too had a tattoos now (only one was visible at the moment).

"Jessica!"  Kayla yelled out once she saw her and her husband, Cole.  I made eye contact to Cole and gave him a little 'Act like you don't know me' look and he nudged Jessica to do the same as we walked towards them.

"Oh my gosh Kayla, long time no see, how are you doing?"  Jessica questioned.

"I'm doing good, this is my best friend Sutton."  Kayla introduced me to the two like I didn't know them.  "Lauren this is my friend Jessica and her husband, Cole"

I gave them a slight nod and shook each of their hands.  They all talked for a bit before Cole and Jessica had to greet others.

"Do you want a drink?"  Kayla questioned.

"I'm okay."  I answered, Kayla shrugged her shoulders before walking off, leaving me alone.

I stood there looking around the room, hoping no one would notice me, especially Dalton.  I eventually did see Dana.

"Hey Sutton," he came up and gave me a hug, "long time, no see."

"Oh hey Dana, what's new with you?"  I questioned, we both lost touch after a few months of me being in college.

"Living on my own since Cole and Jessica moved here a few weeks ago."  He told me.

"That's nice.  I'm at Princeton, living in a dorm."  I answered, "How's Dalton?"

Dana tightened up when I mentioned him, "He's a complete mess, he regrets that day, he hasn't been the same since."

I bit my lip a little, "Well I can't bear to see him, so please don't tell him I'm here."  I begged.

"I won't, but you need to text me and we need to get together.  I miss my little sister amid so does Cole."  Dana told me while he gave me another hug.

"Alright I promise, bye Dana."  I said giving him a kiss on the cheek before walking away.

A few minutes later I saw Dalton get into Dana's face, Dalton is clearly drunk.  I stood there and watched as Dalton yelled.

"Why the fuck can't I talk to her?"

"Because she doesn't want to talk to you!"  Dana yelled back.

"Why not?"  Dalton yelled again.

"Dalton, you left the poor girl, you left her crying in the middle of your apartment while you fucked some chick in the bar.  All she wanted was to take advantage of a great opportunity, you're an abusive, controlling asshole!"  Dana yelled before slapping Dalton.  The two started to fight as everyone started to look on and Cole intervened.

"Dalton go upstairs!  You're acting like you're five,"  Cole pointed towards the stairs, "get over yourself.  Her leaving was all your fault and Dana is right, you were so controlling over her."

"But,"  Dalton started.

"You're in my house!  No buts, go upstairs."  Cole said as Jessica came up behind him.  Dalton grunted but went upstairs and I ran into the other room where no one could see me have a breakdown.

Jessica came in right after me and pulled me into a hug, "I'm so sorry about Dalton, he's been a wreak ever since you left, he's been gambling, smoking excessively, binge drinking, sleeping around.."

"He's still not over me?"  I questioned her, I would've figured he's be at least a year ago.

"Sutton, honey, he won't be, he loved you so fucking much, he was going to propose eventually."

"Let me go talk to him then."  I told her before heading towards the stairs.

I knocked on the only closed door, "Whoever it is, fuck off!"  Dalton yelled from the other side of the door.  I stepped away and started to head back downstairs but I changed my mind and went back.  I opened the door and went straight in.

"Whoever it is, I said to fuck.."  Dalton stopped yelling midsentance, "...Sutton?"

"That's me."  I answered while looking right at the boy who left me over a year and a half ago.
