"This is the barn Hamlet," Burch begrudgingly huffed at the black-and-white tom, still remembering the right from two sunrises ago. "Missy and I live here, but I guess you have to now."
Hamlet nodded curtly and grumbled. "Hey, I'm not happy to be here either," he was still planning his brand escape.
Missy padded into the barn and leapt into a large pile of hay, emerging with a cat mouse. Hamlet was fascinated. "Woah! Mice - or frogs for that matter - are never that plump! Are all the more here like that?"
"Yup!" Missy said, biting into the mouse. "Them's good eatin's too - better than frogs."
To be honest, Hamlet hated the taste of mouse, but, as he learned from Clanlife, food was good and you shouldn't be picky, so, he sniffed the barn for some mice, it took him a few tries - and a lot of bowling laughter from Butch - but Hamlet finally managed to snag a mouse. Before he ate, Hamlet meowed. "Thank you StarClan for this meal, may it provide me the strength I need for the day and satisfy me. Also, Furstar...if you're hearing this...I miss you, still."
Not even Butch had a comment as Hamlet ate his mouse in painful silence, lost in thought, was Leopardroar eating right now? Was what Brokenpaw said correct, is Leopardroar pregnant?! W-would she even want to see me after everything I've done!? The small tom began to tremble as tears fell down the left side of his face.
Missy left Butch's side to comfort the tom. "Hey, I know times are rough, a-and we all have regrets in our life, but it's also our job to move past them."
Hamlet sniffled, grateful that Missy was a nice cat, she kindof reminded him of Honeysong, a dear friend of Hamlet's. Though he never shared the same feelings she had for him, he deeply cared about and respected the she-cat. Hamlet sighed and stood up, examining the barn.
There was a loft high up, and a ladder leading to it. The tom leapt up the ladder and picked out a hay like and asserted that as his new nest.
He slipped into a dreamless sleep - his mind crying out for StarClan.
