CH. 4 ~ Escape Pt. 2

"That's the signal, Let's GO!" Taehyung whispers harshly, dragging me across the courtyard. The orbs Chungha dropped released a huge black cloud of smoke. "Cover your nose," Taehyung advises and I follow his orders. He leads the way, gun at hand.

"What is this? What about Chungha?" I inquire as we run through the mysterious black gas cloud.

"Don't worry about it. Chungha knows how to handle this." Ugh, Are you kidding me! Why does everyone know about these things but me! We successfully cross the courtyard leaving Chungha and the guards behind. I thought we had gotten rid of all the guards but I guess I was wrong.

"There you are, Princess!" An evil voice rasps, coming from the soldier who suddenly appeared in front of us. His musket is bared and pointed at us menacingly. My body seems to move before I can think and I push Taehyung out of the way. My adrenaline kicks in as the soldier cocks his gun. I bring my leg up full-force, remembering the strategies I was taught while in isolation, and I front-kick the gun right out if the solders hand. "You little--" I cut him off with a punch to the jaw, rendering him unconscious. I turn back to Taehyung with a proud smile but he doesn't respond. Instead, he only gives me a baffled expression.

"Where'd you learn that!"

"DoN't WoRrY AbOuT iT!" I tease and he cracks a smile.

"You're really hot, you know!" he admires.

"Duh, that's why you're with me." I joke modestly.

"SUN-MI!" Someone yells. Taehyung and I snap our heads to the source only to find a pissed off Donghyuck flailing his arms at me. "We don't have time for a make-out sesh! Get your ass over here!" He yells.

We follow Donghyuck who leads us out of the castle. From outside it sounds like total anarchy. There's loud crashes and shouts coming from inside the castle, along with the shrieks of the other guests inside. Sucks to be them I guess. We continue making our way when I hear it. A loud explosion ripping through the air. The only difference is that I can see it this time from where I'm standing at the entrance of the castle. The explosions seem to be coming from the docks.

"What's going on?" Taehyung asks before I can. Donghyuck turns to us with a grim expression.

"Pirates," He says.

"Who fired first?" I ask.

"They did," Donghyuck responds. Taehyung and I stay silent. We continue down the dirt road in silence until we reach the stables. I hear a rustling noise, so I instinctively unsheathe my knife by my thigh and hold it out.

"Whoever's there, come out!" I order. I was honestly expecting the worst, like an ambush, but I was instead relieved to see that it was only Mark. I mentally exhale as soon as I meet his grin.

"Where'd you find them?" Mark asks an irritated Donghyuck.

"In the courtyard. If I'd arrived a second too late they probably would have started kissing." Donghyuck gags.

"You catch us one time!" I protest.

"It EEZ, what it EEZ," "Sounds like a you problem," they both snicker at the same time. Taehyung throws his hands up in exasperation.

"Nah, they probably enjoyed the view," he teases with a smirk.

Taehyung!"

"Sorry."

"Whatever, The good thing is that we were not followed. " I sigh.

"Yeahhh... About that," Taehyung starts and I stare at him wide-eyed.
