Finally, Mara is on her way to her lunch date with Georgia. She is very glad it pushes through minus the tall handsome mestizo bedimpled guy. She can't wait to tell Georgia what happened the previous night. She did not expect that seeing Arnold with his new girlfriend would trigger her to start anew. Maybe that is destiny's way of telling her to finally move-on with Arnold as there is someone better for her.
Georgia is already at the restaurant when she arrived. She looks around ensuring that she will not be seeing anything that may ruin her day. "Pwede ba next time yung malapit naman sa office namin ang piliin mong restaurant para hindi ako laging late sa date natin." Mara commented.
"Excuse me, kahit naman sa malapit lang sa office mo tayo kumain, late ka pa rin. Saan ka nagpark?" Georgia asked.
"Nagbook lang ako ng ride, mahirap parking sa amin ngayon kaya ayokong alisin yung kotse ko baka mawalan na ako ng slot pagbalik ko. Therefore, kailangang ihatid mo ako mamaya." Mara said.
"I'm sorry, girl, I have a client meeting after this. Kaya therefore din, hindi ka pwedeng magpahatid sa akin." Georgia said.
"Joke lang naman, oks lang ako, I will just book a ride going back to the office. Uy, nag order ka na." Mara said.
"Yes kasi alam kong late ka na naman at para mag-start ka nang magkwento ng ganap mo kahapon habang kumakain tayo." Georgia uttered.
"Ayun na nga, I drown myself in misery yesterday when I saw Arnold with his new girlfriend. It was so painful that I could not almost breathe kaya umalis na lang ako kesa makita pa ng kinakapatid mo ang drama ko." Mara said.
"Pero you look fine now. Tell me, what triggers the sudden change?" Georgia asked
"I met someone last night." Mara uttered.
"Leche, you had a one night stand?" Georgia suprisedly asked.
"Of course not, Georgia. I was just brokenhearted but I am not desperate." Mara said.
"You WERE brokenhearted, does this mean okay ka na about Arnold, are you saying you are over him?" George continuously asked.
"Grabe naman sa 'over him' na ako, I admit hindi pa rin naman. But, I woke up this morning na hindi si Arnold ang unang naisip ko. That's a good start di ba?" Mara replied.
"You have point on that, what's so special ba about this guy tha he has that kind of effect on you?" Georgia asked.
"He was such a gentleman, George. He even saved me dun sa group of guys na gusto yata akong pagtripan. He also offered to drive for me kasi bigla akong nahilo dahil sa dami ng nainom ko. Imagine, something could have happened to me last night kasi groge na ako pagsakay ko ng kotse. Hindi pa naman ako totally blackout nung time na pauwi kami but I was so weak at kung may binalak syang masama sa akin, siguradong magtatagumpay sya kasi hindi ako makakalaban. But look at me, nakauwi ako nang walang masamang nangyari sa akin. Buong-buo pa rin akong nakarating sa bahay ko." Mara said.
"I can't believe you entrust your life to a total stranger." Georgia commented.
"I can't believe myself, too. I honestly don't understand what pushed me to trust that man last night?" Mara said.
"Well, wala naman na tayong magagawa, nangyari na yan eh. But I suggest mag-ingat ka naman next time." Georgia said.
"He invited me for a coffee pero nagpakipot muna ako. On my way here lang nung nag confirm ako sa kanya na available ako to have coffee with him." Mara revealed.
"What??? You gave him your number?" Georga fiercely commented.
"He gave me his number first." Mara replied.
