why do you live alone

General POV:

El woke up that morning to feel something hitting her side. She remembered that she would have to live here now, she wasn't happy about it. She turned over to what was hurting her and saw Mike asleep, she looked down.

It was his knee.

She slowly got out of the bed, trying not to make any sound. She went for the door, but when she tried to open it, it was locked.

She tugged on it a few times, desperately trying to get out of her kidnapers house. She stopped when she heard someone clear their throat, obviously Mike.

She hesitated before turning around and saw his look, he looked upset.

"Ye-Yes?" El stuttered, she was scared of how he would react. "What are you doing?"

She gulped and thought of a lie "I-I was hungry...I wanted to go to the kitchen and eat." He studied her for a minute before giving a small smile and nodded.

"Come here, if you wonder around then I'll leave you in your room. Understand?" The shorter girl nodded. El followed him into the kitchen, it was very neat and organized.

"What do you want?"

"Whatever you get, Mike" he nodded and made cereal. He handed her a bowl and they ate quietly, she wondered what happened to him. She stared at him for a minute until he looked up and they made eye contact.

He raised an eyebrow, amused. She looked away and her felt her cheeks turn bright red.

"I assume that you have a question for me, eh?" He was correct, she hesitated before nodding and made eye contact with him again.

"Ask away, I feel more comfortable with you now." She nodded, she started to talk.

"Why do you live alone?"

He sighed "I live alone because my parents couldn't understand me so they left me. It hurt at first I guess but my sister visits a few time and my grandparents send me money every month. That's all I'll say I guess."

She nodded before looking down at her feet "what can I do today."

He thought for a moment before smiling, he looked at El. "Well, let's watch movies. I heard that friends do that a lot when they hang out. How about that?" She nodded.

"But first...I think that you'll need a new outfit. You've been wearing the same thing for a while now." She nodded and Mike walked to his room. She thought about how he was treating her and didn't think that it was too bad. He was feeding her and taking care of her, but she just wants to see everyone else that she loves in her life.

He came back a few moments later with a blue sweatshirt and grey warm ups. He handed them to her and told her to take a shower.

She went down the hall to the bathroom and looked at it, there were no windows. All it had was a sink, toilet, and shower. It was a average restroom.

While she was cleaning herself, Mike was in the living room, putting on Netflix and getting snacks ready. He would be lying if he said that he wasn't taking a liking to El, the truth was, is that she was the only person that he could stand. That wasn't a family member of course, but even though she would fight, he liked that little fire in her eye, he thought it was cute.

He was setting everything up, he checked the time and saw that it was 1pm. They would be watching movies for hours but Mike wouldn't mind.

As he turned on the T.V. He saw the news channel come on, he immediately saw that there was a missing persons case on. Mike watched for a minute and saw that they were talking about El.

Her father came on and Mike saw that it was the sheriff. They talked about how Hopper didn't know anything about how she was going out.

This made Mike smile.

Once El came back into the living room she saw how nice everything looked. There were blankets on the couch and the T.V. Had Netflix awaiting for them and 2 bowls of popcorn on the coffee table.

She sat down on the couch and looked at Mike, he looked back at her and sat next to her. "What do you wanna watch?"

She shrugged "legally blond?" His eyebrows furrowed.

He shrugged and played it.

At first it was a little awkward until El fell asleep on his lap.

Mike repositioned her so she was laying down completely and not that long after that they laid together asleep and somehow, Mikes arm wrapped around her body and held her closer.

After what seemed like a minute for them, which was a hour, they woke up. Legally blonde was almost over and they moved around a bit before looked at each other.

"Hi"
"Hello."

They greeted each other, not knowing how close they really were. El didn't know what came over her but she started to lean in and to her surprise, Mike did too.

Her eyes flickered down to his lips and saw him do the same while biting his own. They were a few centimeters apart.

Until everything crashed back to El.

She remembered how this was her kidnaper not her boyfriend. When El remembered she blinked a few times before moving her head away.

She avoided eye contact. Mike was shocked for a moment before sighing, he got up and stretched.

He looked at El "you need to go to bed now. Let's go." He walked to the door of her room and waited for her.

"Mike I-"

"C'mon El, I have to lock the door. Get in your room." She rushed out of the blankets and walked to her room, she tried to look at him but every time she did, his look scared her.

She walked into it and the door immediately slammed behind her and she heard many locks lock.

She laid in bed, re-thinking everything that happened and cried.

Mike went back to his room and thought about everything, as well. He was stuck in his own thoughts until he could hear her cry. It hurt his heart to hear it and it made him wonder how he could actually feel like this.
