Cold

Cold tremors of weakness indulge my body
Of an early winter that has just turned
To spring. The sun is out
But the goosebumps are out
Of season, the body thinks it is winter:
The nose runs and a jumper is needed
To warm the body- something it has been starved of
For days as it's been bed-bound
Unable to move, stiff and something that everyone doesn't want to be.
A slob lies there as it controls itself;
Resisting every movement
To move out from under the warm duvet
That is sure to keep away ice
But this point is disapproved
As the body shakes, freezes and cracks
As the pipes whirr and wese through the body
Telling the body the heating is broken
And it needs to warm up.
Yet cold is all that it feels-
Inside and out.
