sorry guys but i think i need to tell u that this isnt my story it is my sisters so no credit to me!

She held out her wrists, the lazar burning the number 55 on cold skin making her whimper.

"Done" the stone cold voice said with no sympathy. The cold sun burning hard on her back and the icy concrete on bare feet[IR1] was making her turn blue.

She put her burning hand to her side and stood tall and firm, not showing any fear or weakness.

One by one, the rest of the people counted like that, the smell of burning skin sickening

Counted 56, 57, 58, 59...

Some of the younger children cried out and some shed tears but not a word come out of their mouths. The adults looked sad that they couldn't comfort them.

The weather was wiping through their thin pieces of clothing making her shiver with more then just the cold.

"FINISHED! Return to your homes before curfew" they waited looking at him a little confused, what homes? He stood there with an untrusting look on his face "NOW!" he yelled. They Hurrying to their so-called homes and shouting the doors, not wonting anymore trouble, number 55 waited for a bit wonder how her life got like this bad but still hurried after her family soon after. The soldiers were watching and waiting like statues that once stood in this small town.

There was a cracking voice from one of the soldier's ear, making him signal with his hand for all of the other soldiers to leave, one by one in a marching formation, their faces hard like stone they left. Once everyone had left the only sound was the flapping of a government official flag, the red and orange colour standing prod on the small metal poll.

As night fell the wind blow into the tin houses making everyone inside shiver but one girl. She was not in the house like the rest of her family, she was outside on the front step playing with a bowl of wire, thinking how her life could get any worse, her hand still burning from the lazar. The wind blow stronger and stronger, blowing the ball of wire out of the girls grip and rolling down the street. She looked back at the sleeping people in the house and sighed with sadness. Taking one step out of the house and looking around, she ran after the ball of wire. Making no noise on the grave streets.

She rounded corner after corner chasing after the ball but stopped dead in her tracks facing the fear she had kept in side for so long.

"What is you number citizen?" the booming voice said right above her head. She didn't answer with shock, so she ran. Down the alleyways and up walls, knowing where every rock, stone and twig was. The soldiers were slow and heavy with suits, no match for a quick, thin clothed girl.

"All units to sector 14, look for girl with thin clothes and red hair" he yelled into his earpiece. He tripped on rocks and sticks cursing every time but with every step he took it was a step closer to the girl.

Quick on her feet she ran, up a wall and onto a roof, knowing from experience that height was important. She looked down on the many angry soldiers looking in every hiding place they could think of, even going in to near by houses. Smiling to her self she ran to the end of the roof and jumped to the next house and the next, making no sound.

Growing up on the street help her to become the girl, she was today, Strong. Looking down for a place to jump to the ground, she saw her ball of wire. She looked around where the ball was placed for trouble and smelt the air for anything out of the normal but all she smelt was burning wood. Once she knew it was clear, she jumped. Grabbing the ball, she looked up and saw a big house with smoke coming out of the chimney. A big garden circled the house with pink, blue and green roses. She tiptoed to the front gate with the sun rising from behind her. Looking around the amazing house, she took one step inside the gate and gasped at the feel of fresh grass on her bare feet.

A barking dog ran across the garden completely ignoring her, making her jump out of the garden and quickly closing the gate. Wow, she hadn't seen one of them since the up rising of the government! Knowing she had to leave soon she picked an over hanging green rose and started to walk away.

A gasp stopped her dead in her tracks praying it wasn't a guard. She turned around slowly and saw a girl about seven or eight, with blonde ringlets and a bright pink dress with the dog in her arms. The girl walked one step closer and she took one step back.

"Who are you?"

She was never leant proper English like this giel probably did but she did know her own name and a few other words.

"May and I am someone you should forget"

the girl looked hurt and sad but just said "Why?"

looking around the girl saw shadow coming from the house, know it was the parents of this child, she turned and ran to the nearest house and jumped on the roof.

The wire ball sipped from her hand and drop to the ground. Forgetting the ball, she hid behind a thick pole on the roof, running back the ways she came.

Walking back to the fount step of her tin house, she stepped inside to see her family standing there with soldiers all around them.

"What is your number girl?" this time she didn't run.

"Number 55 sir" he looked at her and held out a lazar. "Give me your hand girl"

She held her hand out and he started to draw the letter that all people in this town feared more then the solider and even more then the government.

Will there ever be hope in this horrible town?
