"So you're really doing this." Said his partner as they walked down the long hallway to an elevator. "I think you should hold it longer within your decisions but knowing you, you won't.
"Of course you know me then." Tony looked over the top of his glasses, swiping an identification card over the hologram on the elevator. "I would like to take them all, but we have to make sure that this is going to work first.
"Starting with him? It doesn't taste like a good start to me. Besides i read the file, he is a catastrophe, he will not fight for the earth, he will destroy it."
"Trust is something you lack my friend, and maybe a little faith too." Tony turned to Happy as he put a hand on the knob on the last door. "Anyone locked up with an opportunity to get out, will take it.
The guards approached the two as soon as they entered and witnessed the transparent cage in front of them. Inside it was the same little man with his feet chained as he hugged his knees, eyes closed, seemed to be resting, Tony guessed from the lousy look on his face. But he knew that he was pretending and that he was listening to every detail.
"It's the one Mr. Stark." The guard continued and the boy look sideways at them."I guess you heard about last night, the boy cold-heartedly murdered one of us who was just trying to feed him. But that thing is not a human, he's a monster who doesn't deserve a chance, DID YOU HEAR ME?!?!"
It was not a matter of long before one of the guards lost his dueling steadiness and snapped at the teenager who now stood with bare feet and a mortified face. There was still no way to prove otherwise, so Tony nodded with respect lowering his eyes and told Happy to get him out of the room and that he would take care of this because after all it was his idea.
Tony took in his hands the bag where the necklace was inside, still with blood marks on it. When Stark turned back to the cage, Nikolas was already in front of him looking directly at the necklace.
"Please don't look at me like that, i hate those looks." Nikolas didn't even look at the man, but the weight of the aura made his shoulders droop. "I didn't want to hurt him, Jeremy. I liked him. He always brought me lemon jelly when I asked for it, BUT I KILLED HIM, and it felt...empty. I can still hear and feel him." He looked around as if he was searching for his physical presence. "I think he disgusted the idea of me eating him.
That shocked the millionaire and he couldn't help but be terrified to hear those words from someone younger. The guards moved their weapons showing that they were ready to shoot and protect Stark, making the boy laugh sarcastically when he saw Tony slowly walk around.
"I know what you mean, how you feel."
That got his attention. Nikolas turned to look at Tony and that made him get a better look at his face. Dried sweat and his mouth area dark red. Blood.
