Luna

I tried to get closer to the fence and meet the girl, but suddenly a soldier grabbed my collar and pulled me back hard. I fell down as I cried in pain. Falling down was not a good expeeience, as rocks and pebbles filled the hard gravel. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" the soldier shouted. I trembled with fear, but then another, more mature soldier came. "Stand down, soldier!" He shouted back to him. "A soldier's duty is to serve, understand? Now get out of here or I'll kick you back to America!" The other soldier trembled and quietly obeyed. He then walked off. The soldier helped me get up and sent me to get healed up. After that, he left and didn't give me the chance to thank him. I went back to my ma and as soon as I got there, she hugged me and cradled me in her arms. "Don't do that again, Luna. Please, please, please," she pleaded. I nodded, feeling guilty and we both went to bed. The next day, we worked. We polished weapons, scrubbed floors, and we put on black and white striped clothes. We were allowed to go out then, and I wandered again, avoiding any soldier. I went back to the fence, and I scanned the area to see if the girl was back. I noticed that she was gone, and, feeling disappointed, I started to go back to the camp, mind swirling with thoughts about the good soldier. Good soldier. Those two words didn't seem to make sense. Suddenly, a girl shouted "Wait!". I quickly turned back to find a girl behind the fence.

Sol

I looked at the girl with striped pajamas. She came back to me, and we both greeted each other. She was covered with injuries, and I instantly felt concern. "Are you alright?" I said pointing to her injuries. "Yes, I'm fine!" then I quietly asked if it was my fault. "Oh, goodness, no! You had nothing to do with it!" My mood brightened and I told her my name. "Name's Sol. It means sun!" "Name's Luna! It actually means moon." How odd. Suddenly, someone blew a whistle loudly. It made me jump, but suddenly Luna seemed so scared. Her expression darkened and she quickly said goodbye. She then ran back to the camp. I went back inside the house, and climbed up to the highest floor. I looked through the window and I noticed everyone wore striped pajamas. Everything was odd about that camp. How daddy's friends in uniforms roamed around, and why they hurt people. I knew dad was a soldier. But he doesn't hurt, does he? I decided to go to my sister. "Jo?" I peeked into her room. There she was, reading a tabloid, whilst braiding her hair. My sister is very weird sometimes. We were best friends, but still opposites. She had dark hair, I had blonde. My hair was short, her hair was long. She loved moving, but I hated it. But still, I loved her with all my heart. "Jo, why are all the people wearing striped pajamas?" She sighed and urged me to come forward. "Carry this to your room, Sol." she said, pointing to a trunk. I tried to carry it, but it was too heavy. "I can't." I replied. "That's the point. You're to young to carry information like that. For now, let me carry it for you." She said, pulling the trunk to her. "Now go and play, I have something to do, alright?" I nodded and went outside. My sister was the best.
