ALIYAH'S POV
Silence filled my ears while I was driving back to our home. I must feel bad for all the events happened to me this day but in my surprise, I felt nothing. The emptiness took over my body like a wild fire.
I blankly stared at the road and continued to drive. I smoothly steered the steering wheel to the right ng biglang may tumawid na maliit na bagay. Napapreno ako agad-agad.
"The hell! Ano yun?" Bumaba ako ng sasakyan para tignan kung may nasagasaan ako.
Pagkababa ko ay tigninan ko sa ilalim ng sasakyan kung nandoon ang maliit na bagay. Ngunit wala doon. Am I hallucinating?
"No that can't be nakita ko talaga na may –" Hindi ko natapos ang sinasabi ko nang may narinig akong mahinang tunog sa sidewalk.
I slowly approach the small thing. It's a puppy. I checked if mayroon siyang mga galos or worse injury pero wala naman. I smiled and noticed there's a dog tag in its neck.
'Moxie'
"Nice to meet you Moxie, where's your owner?" I look stupid talking to the dog but this cute little guy here makes me smile like a psycho.
Napalinga-linga ako sa paligid nagbabakasakali na makita ko ang may ari nito. I'm contemplating if I'll bring this dog to our home but maybe his owner is finding him endlessly. So I decided to wait.
"Moxie!" I turned around only for me to see a boy running towards me. Wait, this guy looks familiar.
"Hey thank so much for keeping him safe. Wait, kilala kita. Miss? Are you okay?" I was looking at him intently and I realized how blue his eyes is. I came back from my senses when he waved his hand in front of me.
"What?" May inis na sambit ko. I know na wala naman siyang ginawang masama but this is just my attitude.
Suddenly I remembered that this is the guy who helped me when I collided to the wall. I grimaced at my stupidity.
"Woah chill I mean no harm. I'm just here to get my dog. Teka, natatandaan kita! Ikaw yung babae na nabunggo sa pader! Kamusta yung ulo mo? Bumukol ba?" Natatawang sagot niya. I rolled my eyes at his temporary happiness.
"Here, your dog. Bye Moxie." Dali-dali kong binigay ang aso niya. The nerve of this guy dapat nagpapasalamat siya pero anong ginawa? Nang iinis pa. Tumalikod na ako sa kaniya at bumalik na sa sasakyan ko.
"Hey, sorry. I didn't mean to laugh at you." He's trying to compose himself once again but seems to fail.
"Okay. Salamat sa pagbantay ng aso ko at sa paghihintay. Akala ko hindi ko na siya makikita eh. So thank you and as a compensation I'll treat you to lunch tomorrow. Deal?" Tumaas ang kilay ko ng marinig ko ang sinabi niya.
I turned around and said, "Look you don't need to compensate me. You already said thanks so we're all good. And besides I can get my own lunch." I'm about reached for my car's handle when he grab my arm.
"Please? Also, I want to get to know you." I sighed. He is starting to annoy me. Bahala na para matapos na to I'll just agree.
"Fine I agree, happy?" I sarcastically smiled at him.
"I am. Though parang napipilitan ka lang." A mischievous smile is plastered to his face. Ang arte naman ng lalaking to parang babae.
"Okay I agree mister." I looked him in the eye and still amazed how blue his eyes is.
Averting my eyes to Moxie, I smiled and I bid him a goodbye making my features soften bit.
I opened the door of my car and slid in. But before I closed my door I heard him say, 'Hey bud. Mabuti ka pa hindi niya sinusupladahan.'
