"Please marry me." it was quiet for a moment. And then suddenly he just covered his mouth to keep himself from laughing.
"I think I misheard you, Miss Alicia. Would you remind me and repeat it again?"
"Marry me." I may have said that in a more serious tone because he had stopped from laughing and looked at me with unbelief.
I knew it... he's unwilling to listen to what I have to say. I'm the only one who can save myself.
I breathed in, hoping to take back what I said. I mean it's hopeless!
"Alicia?" I whipped my head around only to find the scumbag, Jonathan Campbell.
Why here now of all places! God, how can this person be so detrimental in my life.
Wait a minute... This might not be so bad after all. I mean since he's already here then this means that i could actually hit two birds in one stone!
There's no other opportunity like this again.
I closed my distance towards the Prince and hugged his arm and held his hand, acting lovey dovey towards him. This is so humiliating... Even the Prince is shocked by what I just did.
"Looks like I can't hide this anymore..." acting as if I was caught cheating. "Jonathan Campbell, I need to apologize to you."
"What?" his reactions were priceless! Just the kind I was looking for. And the Prince's were... Uh he just looked at me as if saying 'What the hell do you think you're doing?' kind of reaction. He just stared at me really.
"I found out that the Duke and I share mutual feelings for each other".... A few seconds passed and everything was quiet. Jonathan is dumbfounded, the Prince is dumbfounded and I was dumbfounded by my own words!
The Prince just kept staring at me and was just silent. He couldn't utterly grasp that this is the deal that I offered him. I hugged his arm tight and whispered 'Royal Seal'.
When he finally understood what I Am up to. He just chuckled. In exchange for my secrecy and knowledge about the seal, he'd have to marry me so I can cancel my engagement with the douchebag.
Without further hesitation, he flung his arms around me and smiled at Jonathan. I just hoped it would work... I mean did he even take the bait?
Jonathan who's still processing all of this... Already managed to vent out a few words
"How in the world did this hap---" he was cut off, when my mother's servant came out and called for me.
"Lady Alicia, where have you been? The Duchess said that it was time to go. " Your curfew saved me father, I won't ever forget your wisdom.
I made a curtsy bidding farewell to the two gentlemen. "It looks like I've ran out of time. I hope you enjoy the rest of the night."
I was about to go, to get out of this mess that I've caused when Jonathan suddenly grabbed my hand.
