You were sobbing uncontrollably. The doctor had just told you that you would have to get a minor surgery performed for your bone fracture. You had slipped on ice earlier and fractured your arm pretty badly, and Ariana had taken you to the hospital.
Your girlfriend put an arm around you and stroked your back, her lips brushing your neck. The mere thought of surgery terrified you so badly that you would rather live with a fractured arm forever than have surgery performed on you. Of course, you knew what was best for you, and you had to do it.
"It would be best if it's done as soon as possible." The doctor said, his voice flat and emotionless.
"We can do it right now," Ariana told him, and you let out a cry and buried your face in her hair. She hugged you tighter and pressed her lips to your nose, tears also streaming down her face. "Please baby. I hate seeing you in pain like this. It'll be over soon." She murmured against your skin.
"I'm scared Ariana, I'm scared." Your body shook with sobs and you were lightheaded from hyperventilating. The doctor stood up and gestured for you and Ariana to follow him. Ariana helped you stand up on your wobbling legs and held your good arm.
"I'll be there the entire time. You'll be sleeping, so you won't feel a thing." She slowly led you down the hallways to the surgery room. This only made you more hysterical, as anesthesia also scared you quite a bit. You accidentally brushed your fractured arm against a wall and you shrieked in pain. Ariana bit her lip as more tears fell down her face. "I'm so sorry baby, I wish I can take all the pain and fear away from you."
You took a turn in the hallways, and there it was. The room you're going to be in for the next few hours. The fear and the pain from your arm was too much, and you felt yourself starting to pass out. Ariana held you up and laid you down on the hospital bed, her eyes blurry with tears. She planted a kiss on your broken arm and brought her mouth up to your ear.
"It's gonna be alright. I promise. You're gonna wake up just fine, and I'm gonna be right there, waiting for you with a surprise." A sudden idea came to her mind. She slowly backed out of the room and sat down at the waiting room, pulling out her phone. She knew just what to do to make you feel better.
Meanwhile, in the surgery room, you lay there, panting, as surgeons began to enter the room. Someone put a mask on your face, and seconds later, you were asleep, dreaming about cuddling with Ariana back at home.
Before you knew it, it was all finished. You opened your eyes to Ariana face staring down at you. She gave a startled gasp and immediately pressed her lips to yours, the kiss fierce and passionate.
"My baby," She whispered, her lips still on yours. A nurse was about to go in the room to check on you, but stopped at the doorway, not wanting to interrupt you and Ariana.
You smiled weakly at her, your mind still a little woozy from the anesthesia.
"Look what I got you," Ariana started to take something out of her purse. It was a medium-sized brown box decorated with flowery patterns. A grin lit up your face as you realized what it was. A box of chocolates from your favorite candy shop downtown. You haven't had one of those in years, as they were very expensive.
"Thank you!" You exclaimed and used your good arm to pull her into a kiss again. It was only a box of chocolates, but it still made you very happy.
"And I still kept my promise," Ariana said, winking, after you had finished kissing. "I was here the entire time. I never left the hospital. I just asked Frankie to drop it off for me."
"I love you so much Ariana."
"I love you too, Y/N."
