I've been staring at the ceiling for a mere three seconds connecting and gathering my thoughts. I was woken up by the sun's light hitting my face as I was sleeping with the chirping sounds of the birds outside. I closed my eyes for a moment and decided to get up.
I stretched my hands up in the air. The sun's light was so bright that it illuminated the whole room. After I stretched, I took the brush sitting on top of the dresser beside my bed and started to brush my hair. When I was done, I checked the time on the clock that was hanging on the wall.
"It's past eight?! I overslept again!" I exclaimed. I hurriedly made my bed and ran downstairs to the dining room.
"Good morning," I felt a hand placed on my shoulder. I looked at my side to see it was Aunt Carol. "You overslept again." She chuckled.
"That I did, again." I answered sheepishly looking down.
"Good morning, Isabella." Aunt Jemima greeted with a smile holding plates.
"Good morning Aunt Jemima." I greeted back.
"Take a sit. I'll bring breakfast for you."
"Thank you." I replied with a smile. I took a sit and waited for my food.
Spring passed with the blossoming of flowers and it was time for summer. All of the snow melted as each day gets hotter. Summer is here and I am currently in my Uncle and Auntie's place.
Aunt Jemima came back with a plate with food and placed it on the table. "Enjoy your meal."
I thanked her again, put my hands together and said, "Itadakimasu." She then proceeded along with her duties.
I took a spoonful of my meal and ate it.
"How is it?" Aunt Carol asked pulling the chair in front of me for her to sit on.
"It's good!" I took a spoonful again.
"Glad you're enjoying it. Anyway, I heard from Phil that Emma and Norman will arrive next week." She said.
"They are?" My eyes widened in happiness.
"Yup, they will along with Ethan."
"I can't wait. Now I'm looking forward for next week."
"I'm sure you missed Ethan." I looked behind me to see who was speaking. It was Uncle Don who just came in the dining room with Aunt Gilda.
"Uncle Don!" I exclaimed sheepishly looking down.
"What? I'm not wrong am I?" He chuckled.
"Well... you aren't wrong." I said.
"I told you," He chuckled again. "I bet he missed you too."
Aunt Gilda and Uncle Don sat on a chair across me with Aunt Carol in between.
"How about dad and mom? When will they visit here?" I asked.
"Ray said he's still tending to some stuff but he said he'll come as soon as it's all done with your mom." Aunt Gilda answered.
"Oh, okay." I took a spoonful again.
"Bella really looks like Mama, doesn't she?" Aunt Carol commented. I didn't know she was looking at me.
"She really does." Aunt Gilda agreed.
"No wonder Ray decided to name her Isabella. She really looks identical to Mama." Uncle Don joined in.
"What was grandma like?" I asked.
"Mama..." Aunt Gilda paused. "Mama was beautiful. She was intelligent. She was loving and caring."
"Even though she didn't give birth to us, she loved us truly like we were hers." She continued.
