I sat down on the bed, staring at the TV.
'Winged Hero Hawks saves the day again! People...."
I blocked out the rest of what the news was booming about.
I sighed and laid back, letting my wings fall open under me.
"Jesus, I'm so fucking sore."
I groaned
"It was just a rescue mission while other pros fought the villain."
I moved my arms up to try to pop my back.

...Pop...

"That feels a bit better."
I mutter, sitting back up, finally letting my mind wander to the eerie silence of the house.
...
That's weird. He's usually here by now.
Eh, he's probably just working some more work or helping the others.
Hopefully.

"Hello?"
I picked up my phone, answering a call.
"What the hell was the story on the news about? You're supposed to be keeping a low profile!"
Well, that wasn't very pleasant to have yelled in my ear while I was trying to finish my drink.
"Endeavor, listen, I couldn't just walk by and let people be Injured without help!"
I defended, taking the last sip of my tea.

"I could've taken care of it, Hawks."
He hissed through the phone.
"Yea right, you were busy trying to fight the villain."
I sighed, rolling my eyes excessively.
"You dense mother fucker."
"Ha, ya sure you aren't talking about yourself there, Endeavor? You know the League knows that I work as a hero too! I can't just walk into a old hub with my BRIGHT red WINGS and NOT think I'll be noticed as a fucking pro hero!"
I heard him let out an angry breath before abruptly ending the call.

"Sooo, what was that about?"
I jumped up, my heart skipping a beat from the sudden voice.

"Holy crap Dabi- you scared the ever-loving shit out of me."
He chuckled, sitting up on the counter.
"What'd you hear from that?"
I asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Just got in when Endeavor was being a dumbass and thinking you wouldn't be noticed."
He said, swinging his legs back and forth.
"Ah, nice."
I said lightly, leaning back to spread my wings.
"Must feel nice to have your wings open and not have your arms full."
I heard the raven-haired man joke from the kitchen.

"In all actuality, it does feel very good."
I replied, getting up and walking into the kitchen.
"What should be for dinner?"
Dabi asked, hopping down from the counter.
"Hmmm, maybe a casserole? Or we go pick up something?"
I suggested.

"Mmmm. You know what sounds good? That chicken casserole you always make with the macaroni, tomato, and all that good stuff. The potato chip topping really makes it come together."
He said in a rather excited voice.
"Gotcha, hold the fort down while I go grab groceries, k? And don't be too surprised if Endeavor shows up. You know the hideout room in the basement. So maybe just hangout down there."
I saw him nod, giving me a quick smile before quickly rushing to the basement.
I smiled before grabbing my phone, turning on some music, and connecting it to my headphones.

"Thank you for shopping here today! Your total comes to twenty-eight dollars and seventy eight cents!"
I gave a thankful nod before pulling out a $20 bill and $10 bill. I handed it to the cashier and left with my groceries, letting the cashier keep the change.
Once outside, I opened up my wings, walking to the sideway before taking off.

I held my bags tightly and began to soar, closing my eyes and letting the breeze rustle my hair.
After about 5 minutes, I saw my house and began to land, bringing my wings to a close when I felt my feet on the ground.

I grabbed my keys from my coat pocket, unlocking the door and walking in with the groceries.
"So, Hawks. What was that act this afternoon about?"

I sighed and sat the bags on the counter.
"How the hell did you get in, Endeavor."
I spat, looking up from my keys.
"I know where you hide stuff Hawks. The hole in the brick that's on the flowerbed siding, there's your extra key. And in the backyard, you have a fake flower pot that hides extra car keys and agency keys."

"I'm sorry, but why do you know this? The hell! Did you get someone to watch me?"
He huffed slightly.
"Get out of my house, Endeavor. I'm trying to cook dinner and I don't want it burnt from your hell flame of a personality and quirk."

After awhile he finally left.
Damn it...
Thirty minutes went to waste.
"Hey Hawks. Need any help?"
I let out a sigh of relief when I heard Dabi.
"Yea, thanks Dabi. Can you begin cutting up the chicken? Thank you so much."
"Yep! No problem."
I could tell he was smiling, that dorky type of smile he has.

"Sooooo... what all happened today. I watched the news with Toga before I left, about how you rescued civilians while Endeavor was being is normal, cocky self."
Of course he brings this up.
He knows I like to vent and rant, and can go on forever, letting muscle memory take over just to explain everything.

I sprawled out across the bed, letting my wings stretch out beneath me.
The windows were open, letting the warm spring air into my room, I could hear the curtains jostle together.

It's a nice night out.
It almost felt like a summer night.
I let out a content breath before laying down on my side and letting my wings wrap around my body as a blanket.

Before I went to sleep, I stared out of the windows my side of the room.
I saw a violet sky splattered with silver stars, trees with leafs and branches swaying in the light wind, and the birds letting out their final songs before heading to their nests and then to sleep.

It was a good day.
But. Hopefully Dabi stays quiet tonight.
I'm sore, tired, and finally in need of a good nights sleep.
Without much more hesitation, I took a deep breath before closing my eyes, letting myself drift off to sleep.
