My favorite word is name
The word name ignites a flame
Like a wonderful game
Not all names are the same
Names can bring shame
A name can even bring someone fame
A name can claim
Who you are and what you do
A name can cause blame
You can use a name to aim
Shooting down the enemy
Use a name to maim
To tear someone down
But at the same time
You can heal and love with a name
A name can tame
The disgrace people misplace
In a space where names don't belong, Running free to devour people in their meaning
A name is power and emotion
And people are capillaries to an ocean
Forever creating a potion
Thousands of names
Not a single one the same
Or names that will eventually be in a frame
Names will make you or break you
That's why name is my favorite word
Names are a gift, a spoken word. Names are meaning, substance. There is a story to every name, whether it be a bloody war where people fight for their very breath, or a time of great calm, where the only thing you battle for is the gentled bees for their sweet honey. Names belong to both the living and dead; to everyone and everything. Nothing can go without name, there is even a name for lack of substance; nothing.
Names can break your heart, they can make you weep for shame, cause the young and old to jump off chairs with only ropes to keep them standing with their decision midair. We can use words as weapons; sharp, slicing down our enemies where they stand like wheat before a scythe. Names can be a trap, to shackle and enslave anything from inanimate objects to a living soul. A name can possess and free you, crown and overthrow you.
