CHAPTER 3: THE EXHIBIT
I've decided to get up early and join my sister Haidee on her jogging.
"It's nice that you joined me today, I kinda miss doing this with you," Haidee said as she start stretching her legs, warming up before with start jogging.
"Well I miss hanging out with you," I said as we start with our tracks.
"Mom told me you're going to this exhibit tonight, nice to know you're doing something else aside from work."
"Yeah. Well, you know how persistent Adela and Roseli are," I said and Haidee laughed.
"Especially Roseli," she said.
"Yeah she's pretty persistent, that's why I adore her," we both laughed.
We did a couple of rounds of Haidee's usual routine and had lunch at a nearby fast food, yep, so much for exercising and wasting it on fast food afterwards.
Ever since I called off my wedding, I barely have time to bond with my sister, I always kept myself busy with work and other extra part-time job I could find. I just wanted to keep my mind busy so I could just forget how painful it is to be cheated on.
"You okay?" Haidee said making me lose my train of thoughts.
I sip on my juice and smiled at her, "Yeah, I was just thinking about work," I lied.
"You seriously need to get out more often, your job is eating you and your losing time to hang out with me."
I felt guilty, "I swear I will make it up to you, I'll hang out with you more often."
"Sure sis, whatever you say."
***
"See I told you it looks good on you!" Roseli said as I checked out my reflection on my room's full body mirror. I was wearing the black lacy dress she chose for me, it has a beautiful detailed short sleeves and the hem line just ended two inches above my knees.
"You looking dazzling, for sure you'll be tonight's head turner," Adela said as she rummage on my make up kit, "come let's start with your make up, I think smokey eyes would complete the look."
Adela did my make-up, she's pretty good at it probably because she's a model, "are you guys sure this isn't too much? I mean, it's just an exhibit and I am not even a participant," I asked as she applied eyeshadow on my eyelids.
"Hold still," Adela said, "you're not overly dressed up, if that's what you're worried about. Now quit worrying and hold still." So I followed her and let her finish my make up.
As we're all done preparing we headed to Timog for the exhibit.
It was a warehouse inspired place in the inside and the exhibits are artfully placed by the wall. Everything is in black and white since that's the theme and I think I blended with the theme because of my black dress.
A chubby woman in black catsuit approached us and Adela gave her a warm smile, "Adela, you made it!" the woman said as she gave Adela a warm hug. "And who are these lovely ladies with you?" she said as she turned to us with a warm smile.
"Yasmin! These are my bestfriends, Hailey and Roseli," Adela introduced us.
"Hailey, Roseli," Yasmin said as she gave me and Roseli each a hand shake.
"Girls, this is Yasmin Banzon, my photographer, the one who invited us here," Adela explained.
"It's nice meeting you," Roseli said to Yasmin, "wow this place is huge and so... black and white. I'm gonna miss the colors."
