Chapter 2 - Day Out

Hadley & Jaiden are safely at school, & Saffron at nursery. That means Ramin & Sierra have a number of hours to themselves.

In the car in the school car park, Ramin reveals to Sierra his plans for her birthday.

"Now, I know how much you love Hyde Park. So that's where we're going now," he tells her.

"Ooooh yay! And it's a nice day for it too!"

The journey from the school to the park only takes 10 minutes. When they get there, Ramin parks the car, they both get out & hold hands as they walk into the park together. 

They stroll around for a while, hand in hand, talking about anything & everything before sitting on a bench. Sierra puts her head on Ramin's shoulder & he puts his head on hers.

"I love you, R," Sierra says after a few moments.

"Awwwh babe, I love you too. Happy Birthday!" He plants a kiss on her forehead.

Just then, Ramin's phone rings. He gets it out of his pocket & looks at the screen.

"Ooh, Mandy is video calling us," he tells Sierra.

He accepts the call & holds his phone up so they can both see the screen.

"Hey Mandy, how are you doing?" Ramin asks.

"Hello you two!" Mandy says, excitedly. "I'm just calling now to wish you a very Happy Birthday Sierra! I really hope that you're having an amazing day!"

Sierra replies, "oh I am Mandy, thank you so much!"

"Are the boys spoiling you?" Mandy asks Sierra.

"Oh they are!" Sierra says, laughing. "Jaiden & Hadley got me some Barbara Streisand albums which was really sweet & Ramin's brought me to Hyde Park for the day."

"Awwwh that's so sweet of them! How are my little boys doing?"

"You would be so proud of them, Mandy," Ramin tells her. "They're doing great at school & they are great with little Saffron."

"Awwwh, that's my boys! What about Saffron, how is she?"

Sierra tells her, "oh she's amazing, Mandy. But she's growing up too fast!"

"Awwwh I know, they do don't they?" Mandy says.

"How about you, Mandy? How's your job going over there?" Ramin asks her.

"Oh Ramin, it's going really, really well. I'm really enjoying it. Initially, I know it was a hard decision to make, but I'm really glad I decided to do this. I can't wait for you all to come & visit!" Mandy tells them.

"Awwwh that's great!" Ramin & Sierra say in unison. 

"You two seem really happy too. I'm really glad that it's working out for you."

"Thank you so much, Mandy. It really means a lot," Ramin tells her.

"I'll call again tomorrow & talk to the boys, but I'll have to go to work now. Glad we got chance to catch up!"

"Us too Mandy. We miss you!" Sierra says.

"Speak to you soon," Ramin adds.

"Take care & lots of love. Bye!" Mandy signs off.

"Bye!" Ramin & Sierra say before Ramin puts his phone away.

"That was so nice of her to call," Sierra says.

"It was, wasn't it? So glad everything is working out for her," Ramin adds. "And I'm so glad that she's given us her blessing."

"Me too," Sierra says.

Ramin places a kiss on Sierra's lips before they get up & stroll up to the park's cafe where they grab some lunch.

Ramin lets Sierra choose whatever she wants & pays for everything. 

They sit at a table for two in the corner & eat their lunch. Sierra chose a ham & tomato toastie with salad, followed by a rocky road brownie. Ramin had a BLT sandwich, also with salad, followed by an apple pie & ice cream. They both opted for soft drinks, saving the hard stuff for later! 

As they eat, they talk about anything & everything, just as lovers do.

When they finish eating, Ramin asks with a twinkle in his eye, "fancy a shopping spree?"

Sierra says, "oh Ramin, you are spoiling me!"

"Of course I am!" he says. "It's your birthday! So, was that a yes?"

Sierra giggles. "Yes!"

And with that, they both get up from the table, leave the cafe & head to the car hand in hand. Ramin drives them to the mall & they spend the afternoon there, with Ramin making sure that Sierra gets spoiled.

After about three hours, they leave the mall with what looks like 50 bags from 50 different stores!

They put them in the back of the car before getting in & going back to the school to pick the kids up.

When they get there, Ramin pulls up in a parking space. He switches off the engine & then Sierra puts her hand on his leg & says, "thank you so much for today babe. You've really spoiled me, I've really enjoyed it. I'm so lucky to have you."

She kisses him on the lips & he kisses her back, pulling her closer by taking her head in his hands.

After a few moments, he pulls away & says, "you're more than welcome, Sie. You deserve it! I love you."

"I love you too," she says.

They kiss one more time, before getting out the car. Ramin locks it & they go to the nursery first. Saffron sees them straight away as she's the first one in the line waiting to come out & holding hands with one of the teachers. 

Ramin & Sierra walk up to them with big smiles.

Sierra bends down with her arms open & Saffron runs into them.

"Hey baby!" she says as she picks her up. Ramin plants a kiss on her head.

"She's had a really good day," her teacher says. "And she's made Mummy a little card for her birthday!"

"Aww thank you!" The teacher gives the card to Sierra.

"Are you gonna say bye bye?" Ramin asks Saffron as he starts to wave.

Saffron copies, waves her arm & says "bye bye" to her teacher.

Next, they go to the top end of the school to collect the boys.

On the way, Sierra passes Saffron to Ramin as she was getting a bit restless & reaching for him.

When they get to the boys' playground, they are also first in the line. Their teacher lets them go as soon as they see Ramin & Sierra. 

"Dad!" they shout, as they run over to them.

"Hey you two, have you had a good day?" Ramin asks them.

"Sure have!" They both reply.

"Great!" Ramin replies, before asking them. "How would you like to go for a sleepover at your grandparents tonight? All three of you?"

"Cool!" The boys reply.

They all start walking back towards the car.

"You will be good for them though, won't you?" their Dad warns them.

"Of course we will!" they reassure him.

And with that, they make sure that all the kids are strapped in the car properly before setting off to Ramin's parents house.
