\Thoughts\

Naruto talking in his mind.

'Kurama/Kyuubi talking.'

'Shukaku talking'

Gaara talking.

(With Naruto)

"Hello Naruto-kun." The blonde turned to see Mizuki standing next to him.

"Mizuki-sama." He greeted glumly.

"Let's go somewhere more private and talk." The fakeness in his voice was very obvious.

"Okay."

Naruto got off the swing and followed behind the white haired ninja. Iruka saw this and went to the hokage to inform him. Meanwhile Mizuki and Naruto stopped at the top of a building away from everyone and sat down. It didn't take long for his sensei to start talking.

"Don't blame Iruka-chan." He said.

"Huh?" He wasn't expecting the man to say that so his confusion was genuine.

"He was hoping that you would pass. You see he is just like you." He told him.

"He is?" He asked.

"Yeah. He lost his parents during the kyuubi attack." His tone wasn't anywhere close to sadness or sympathy.

\I can't be- actually nevermind. I can believe he's using Kurama like that. He actually sounds happy that Iruka-sensei's parents died. Bastard.\ He thought.

"After that he grew up alone. He played pranks to get people's attention." Mizuki told him.

Blue eyes widened. "Iruka-sensei played pranks on people!" He knew this but he had to play his part and he did a better job than Mizuki.

"He did." He confirmed with a nod.

"Wow." He gasped.

"Indeed." He smirked thinking he had the kid right where he wanted him.

"I don't believe it." Naruto said.

"Well he did." He gave a fake laugh.

\Seriously. How are you a ninja?\ He questioned in disbelief.

"So you see why he sees himself in you?" He asked.

"Yeah." He looked stunned.

"There is a way you can pass." He said nonchalantly.

"Really?" He jumped up. "How?"

"You sure you want to know?" The white haired ninja asked as he attempted to hide his smirk.

\You really are bad at hiding your emotions.\ "I am!" He yelled.

"Alright." He then told Naruto about the forbidden scroll. "It's at the hokage's home."

"Okay." He said. \So that's what he wants. Why?\

"You must get it without being caught. Then you must learn at least one technique from it and prove that you can do it. I'll be at the cabin in the woods later. If you show up I'll test you." He explained.

"Okay!" He yelled in excitement and he made a list of reasons why Mizuki wanted the scroll.

"See you then." He said.

"See you!"

Mizuki left the area. Naruto waited until his chakra signature disappeared. He stood up and stretched.

That man is an idiot. Naruto told Kurama.

'I agree.' He said.

Let's go see the hokage.

'Of course.'

Naruto quickly made his way to Hiruzen's office. The man and Iruka were waiting for him. The blonde explained the situation. Both frowned at what they heard.

"Why would he want the forbidden scroll?" Iruka asked.

"I don't know." The hokage said.

"What do I do?" Naruto asked.

"Play along. It will be the only way to find out. Iruka will go to the cabin after I sound the alarm. He will "find" Naruto. Kakashi will be hiding there listening. The civilian council will most likely try to get involved and call Naruto a liar. We will have two witnesses that say otherwise. Then I will get the pleasure of kicking them out since it is a ninja matter." He smirked.

He was oh so close to getting back the power those fools gained when the kyuubi attacked. They just needed Naruto to pass the survival test and then he could act. As long as he was considered a civilian they had a lot of say over him. They also hoped they would admit to a few things out of anger when they learned the blonde passed.

"Hai." Naruto nodded.

"Don't do too much damage." The elderly ninja told not only Naruto but Iruka as well.

"Hai." The two said.

"Good." He was relieved.

"Yup. See ya later jiji, Iruka-sensei. I have a letter to send before tonight." He said.

"Alright. Bye Naruto." Hiruzen said with a fond smile.

"Bye brat." Iruka said.

Naruto went home. He quickly wrote the letter and sent it off. He made sure to use demon language in case someone else got a hold of the letter. He then began planning his moves for his mission.
