Guys! They make "Creeps"! This is amazing!

I don't protest as she carries me to the kitchen and sets me in one of the chairs at the table.
"Take off your jacket, you're burning up." Sam sits across the table from me. I wiggle a bit, letting the jacket slip off my arms, onto the metal back of the chair. "Oh honey... Who did this?" She asks. "And you tell me the truth!"
"My Mom didn't... She didn't aprove of me staying out late." She hands me a flexible gel ice pack. I press it to my throat, leaning on the table.
"How old are you?" She puts her hands on her hips.
"I'm 18 today." I whisper, glancing at Sam. He nods a little and rests his head on the table, looking at me sideways with his puppy eyes.
"Good, then you're legal." I raise a brow. "I mean you can move out of your parents place."
"I don't have anywhere to go. I don't make enough money to rent an apartment or anything. I was gonna move into a college dorm next fall."
"Scholarships?" She asks. I nod. "Well I'm very proud. I imagine you don't play sports but your grades must be very impressive to get a full ride." She says. She's proud of me?
"Anyway, you work?" She asks. I nod.
   "Where at?" Anna asks.
"I stock shelves for the Local Market in the mornings and..."
"And... The old man in the Walnut Grove neighborhood?" Heather asks softly. I nod. "The news said someone was helping him in the evening during the week for the last couple years."
"The blind guy from the news?" Anna asks. I nod. "You were the one who- you found him?" She asks. I nod again. "I'm so sorry." She whispers.
"Take off your shirt. I want to see that bruise under your sleeve." She says. I try to pull it off, but I can't raise my arms high enough to pull it all the way off.
"Let me help?" I look up to see Sam. I nod a little and he grabs the hem of my t-shirt, carefully pulling it up and over my head so I can slip my arms out. No one says anything for several moments as they look me over.
"Let me call Sandra. She used to be a nurse before she was a chef." She pulls her phone out of her pocket and dials her wife. "Hey babe, we need you at home. The kids brought Dain back. Yeah. No it's bad. It's worse than I thought. Yeah... No, I was hoping you could help patch him up, you have a better eye for this than I do. Okay, see you in a few." She slips her phone back in her pocket. "Our resteraunt is just in town so she'll be here in a few."
   "Your resteraunt?"
"We own a chain. It helps support the pack. We moved here because it has good hunting and we can monitor the restraunt as it develops." I nod. Sam pulls the chair around to sit beside me. He starts to play with my hair but I stop him.
"Just... Not the hair." I mumble. Instead he grabs my hand and starts rubbing circles on the back of it with his thumb.
Soon the door opens and Sandra walks in. She stops to study me for a moment before going to the hallway. She quickly emerges with a big bag full of medical supplies.
"How ya' feeling kiddo?" She asks.
   "Everything hurts." I mumble.
"What's wrong with your voice?" I make sure my hair is secure over my eye before I sit up, pulling the ice pack away from my thoat for her to see the still forming bruises. "Oh Dain..."
She starts to pull out equipment. She puts on a stethescope and gently presses it to my chest, from which my ribs are showing. She listens a moment before moving it, and moving it again until she finds it. She listens for several moments.
"You're uh... Your heart..." She says, scrunching her face.
"I'm a vampire." I mumble. Everyone seems to freeze a moment. Just when I start to really get nervous-
"That would do it." She laughs heartily, "Your heart had me scared for a minute."
   "You're a vampire?" Heather asks.
"Yeah. I uh, I can go if-" I start to get up but they gently push me back down.
"Honey it's not a problem. Just a bit of a surprise, that's all. They said you didn't freak when you found out they were werewolves, and that you had a goblin friend. We just assumed you were a witch. Thought you were talking about a familiar." Heather explains. Well, technically I was.
"Really, I can just go, get out of your hair." I offer.
"You aren't going anywhere." Sandra says.
"You're 18 now. You can stay with us." Heather says. I can hear the twins sigh with relief. I almost do too, but grunt instead as Sandra starts wrapping my torso.
"We have a guest room you can sleep in. Why are you grinning like that?" Heather looks to Sam.
"Um, nothing. Just happy to look out for a friend." He says.
"Samuel Johnson don't you lie to me." She puts her handa on her hips.
"He might be my mate..." He whispers.
"You found your mate and you didn't tell is?!" Sandra carefully, expertly, fastens the bandage around my torso.
"Well he didn't seem to know and I was confused, and worried." He mumbles.
"Well you know now right? You turned 18 today? Do you know what a mate is? We're not totally weirding you out right now?" Anna asks, sounding nervous and excited all at once.
"Yeah, we're mates." I whisper. Sam's grin seems to grow.
"Well if it's your birthday we should celebrate. We'll get you some good blood and some cheescake. You should be able to taste that." Heather says.
"You guys can get blood?" I rasp.
"You can't?" I shake my head. "Kiddo when's the last time you ate? I mean really ate?"
"Um... I don't know. I mean, before school started. Mom didn't take well to us being vampires."
"Us? Your Dad?" Heather asks. I nod again. "Is he around?"
   "He's dead. Permanently."
"Oh. I'm so sorry." Heather says.
"So it's just you and her?" Sandra slowly puts her fingers under my chin, tilting my head up so she can look at my throat.
   "And Aspen." I rasp.
"Your dog?" She asks. I can't stay here! I have to get Aspen! I can't abandon him! Especially not with her!
"Woah, calm down honey. Why are you freaking out?" Heather asks.
   "I can't leave Aspen!" I rasp.
"That's alright, we can pick him up." She smiles.
   "Really?"
"Of course! I'm sure the pack won't mind. We all share these apartments." She says. "Does your mom work?"
   "She's a lawyer."
"Then let's go now. I'll take you to get Aspen and some clothes while she's gone." She shoots a clever look to Sandra, who nods.
