'𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚙𝚊𝚛𝚝𝚢'𝚜 𝚘𝚟𝚎𝚛'
"FUCKED STANLEY BARBER!" DINA EXCLAIMED, laughing at what Sydney had just told her and Toni. The three of them were eating breakfast at the diner, like what they usually like to do, but Syd had news to share. News that didn't sit well with a certain strawberry-blonde. "You fucked Stanley Barber?"
"Y-you don't have to keep repeating it," Syd told her as she awkwardly smiled. She glanced over at Toni, who was being quite quiet for someone who would usually speak up at times like this. Instead she stared down at her pink lemonade cup, pinching the top of the straw. Her lips were pursed, and her eyebrows were narrowed. Syd was scared. Going back to the conversation, Syd added, "Liam is right there."
"I'm sorry," laughed Dina as Sydney's younger brother Liam turned to face the girls with a confused look on his face, "I'm just processing. So, how was it?" Syd's awkward smile was still plastered on her face as she recalled the awkward fling from the previous night.
"It was... great," Syd lied as Dina took a sip from her orange juice.
The dark-haired female choked on her drink before sputtering out a, "Really?" Sydney slowly started to nod her head, and Toni bit down hard on her bottom lip.
"Really. I mean... so good at going down on me, I was like, 'Woah!'"
"So you wanna hook up again?" Dina took a bite of her own French toast as she smiled at Sydney. Toni aggressively took a bite of her French toast before looking over at Syd for her answer. The Novak girl didn't want a boyfriend; she only wanted to spend time with Dina and Toni and for everything to go back to normal.
Instead she said, "One hundred percent." She let out a chuckle before Toni abruptly stood up with her hands on the table and her head down. She realized that her eyes were water, and her cheeks were flushed. She was angry, hurt, and embarrassed.
She hated that her middle school crush on Stanley Barber came back, she hated that he slept with her best friend, she hated that Syd wanted to be with him, and she hated how worked up she was getting about it.
