GYM CLASS WAS BRUTAL. TONI was a gymnast and had been doing it since she was six. After being on the competitive team for several years, one would think that one day in gym class wouldn't be so terrible. However, Toni didn't sleep well the night before.

The previous day, they had been given new seats in their chemistry class and just her luck, she was partnered with Stanley Barber. While the two actually were capable of getting along, Toni had stopped talking to him a few years ago which made for a very awkward conversation between the two.

But, then again, when wasn't there an awkward conversation with Stan?

The guilt of leaving him without any friends throughout high school led Toni to not being able to sleep, hence why gym class was so difficult for her that particular day. The Ryder girl then made it her mission to find time to talk to Stan. She missed spending time with him, and she was mentally beating herself up as she applied her lip gloss in the mirror of her gym locker.

"Shit," she cursed as she realized that in her daze of thinking about Stan, she forgot to put her shirt on. She was standing in the locker room with her light pink skirt on and her white bra for all the other girls to see. She prayed as she put her white shirt on that the lip gloss wouldn't touch the fabric and ruin it. Hm, praying works, she thought as she looked down at her shirt once it was on.

Sydney, who was sitting on the bench, quickly tore her gaze away from Toni as she walked over to Toni and Dina. The two girls had lockers that were directly across from one another which was nice when the two conversed about simple things like guys and makeup.

"Well, I hate to ask, but... can either of you give me a ride after school?" Syd asked the two as Dina took her cherry chapstick out of her makeup bag. She started to apply it as the girl continued. "My mom just wants me to go grocery shopping again. I know it's lame, but—"

"Sydney Novak, you could never be lame," Toni smirked at the auburn-haired girl.

"Syd, I swear to God I would, but I sort of promised Brad that I would go to the pep rally with him. So..." Dina put her makeup back away as Syd was trying to put her blue sweater over her head. Toni rolled her eyes before helping the poor girl with her wardrobe malfunction.
