Mondays are the worst. Groaning, I roll onto my side to turn off the blaring alarm on my phone. With a sigh, I roll myself out of bed placing my feet on my black carpet. Making my way across the hall I cringe as I turn on the lights being blinded momentarily in the process. Ignoring my reflection I head to the shower to heat the water before releasing my pestering bladder. Once finished , I strip from my shorts and baggy t-shirt and jump into the scorching lava water. "Frick. Frick. Frick." I chant moving to turn the heat down.
With a sigh I continue my shower humming 'Dusk till Dawn' as I wash with my mango scented body wash. Stepping out into the steaming room I close my eyes. "I hate Mondays."

"Good Morning my lovely sister!" My older brother says entering the kitchen.
I mumble my hello with my face on the table. "Oh cheer up sis! It'll be a good day!" He rubs my shoulders relaxing the tense muscles.
I lift my face and glare at him. "It's Monday Quinn. There is no way this is going to be a good day."
My brother rolls his hazel eyes that he luckily inherited from our father before smirking at me. "Have faith little sister. It's the first day of our Senior year. Stop being such a debbie downer."
I huff at the boy I have the joy of calling my twin. "What have you done to your sister Quinn?" My father asks walking into the kitchen with my little sister hanging onto his back.
My brother fakes a gasp acting offended as I grab my favorite sibling from my dad's large back. "I'm offended that you think I did something."
"That's because you usually do." Our mother joins the conversation coffee in hand.
"Everyone in this family likes to turn on me I see." He grumbles making my sister laugh from her spot on my lap.
I grin down at my sister Amaya who shared my honey brown eyes. "Hey munchkin. Ready for your first day of the 1st grade?"
She nods excitedly which causes me to laugh. I place her in the chair next to me as mom sets a bowl of cereal in front of her. I head to the kitchen to grab a cup of coffee adding a mountain of sugar and cream to block the taste. I like caffeine not coffee. It takes me 5 minutes to down the whole cup and I feel more awake now. "Alright family of mine. I'm headed to school" I announce walking back into the dinning room.
I kiss my family goodbye except my brother who walks to his car. "You're leaving early? You also haven't eaten." My mom points out with furrowed brows.
I give her a kiss on the cheek with a smile. "It's alright Momma. I've got a dance meeting and Ivy's bringing me something."
She nods as I walk out. "Love you lots!" I call before walking out of our large house. I give a small smile at my matte black jeep patting the hood. I slide into the driver's seat and toss both my school and dance bag onto the seat next to me. Connecting my phone to AUX, I smile as 'Girls/Girls/Boys' by Panic! At the Disco plays through my pumped up speakers. "I don't wanna hear you got a boyfriend" I sing along backing out of the driveway.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Remember ladies and gents, dance team tryouts are next week! Have your routine ready! We're only taking 19 people this year to be more elte." Coach Olivia says.
I gather all my papers together and place them in a folder before placing it in my backpack and slinning it over my shoulder. "Kayloni." I stop after hearing my name and turn to Olivia.
She smiles a large smile and her grey eyes twinkle. "I look forward to your dance this year. I must say, with all the vague hints you've given me, I don't know what to expect. I'm curious now."
I grin at my young dance coach. Today her platinum blonde hair was pulled back into a slick ponytail and her face was free of makeup. Not that she needed any in the first place. She wore a black and white v-neck tank top that stopped just under her bellybutton, high-waisted black jeans that had rips in the knees with Nike runners. She looked and dressed her age. At 27 she was the perfect dance coach. Young and had plenty of experience. She went to high school here and loved it so much she came back. "I think you'll enjoy it a lot." was my response before I waved and left to catch up with my friends.
A small pale hand stops me as I walk out the door. I look down and meet the bright ice blue eyes of my best friend. Ivy and I stare at each other for a second before she lifts her right hand to show me my dutch bros and a coffee cake muffin. A wide smile graces my face as I blow her a kiss, which she rolls her eyes at, and grab my stuff. I sip my drink happily, the caffeine filling my system. "Hey you got one of my favorites Gal-"
"Galaxy Fish Rebel blended. Yes I know what you like, you caffeine addicted freak." She smirks. "Also Regena went on a Costco run yesterday and I forced her to get you muffins. You're welcome. I actually had to talk to the witch."
I roll my eyes. Regena is Ivy's step-mom. The woman is a control freak and is trying way too hard to be her mom which pisses Ivy off. Ivy tosses her chest-length brown hair over her shoulder with a sigh. "Anyways, Her and dad are going out of town next week for dad's job so can I crash at yours?"
I nod slowly. "Yeah. My parents love you."
She beems. "Well, what's not to love?"
I roll my eyes again and start walking to my first class. "You're welcome for your overly caffeinated drink by the way. Because you really need something like that as a dancer." She comments jogging to try and catch up with my long strides.
I give her a side eye. "It's either caffeine times 10 or a very grumpy Kayloni. Take your pick." I combat walking into the English class we fortunately share this year.
"I'd prefer anything over a grump Kayloni." a male voice chuckles.
"Shut the hell up Murphy"
My other best friend plops down in front of Ivy and I and turns to give us his charming smile that would make most girls fall at his feet. But not these girls. These girls have seen this pretty boy trip over his shoe laces as a 5 year old and burst into tears. "Oh you love me."
I roll my eyes. My brother and his bandmates file in pushing and shoving which causes a small smile to appear on my face. My brother sits next to me and the twins sit next to Murphy. They turn and smile. "I didn't realize the whole gang had first together." I laughed. "This poor teacher."
We talk about our summers until the bell rings and a young man steps into the room "Hello class. My name is Mr. Fox and I'm a first year English teacher"
He looks around the class with a small smile. He was quite attractive. Looks about 26 with black hair and brown eyes. He looked to be about Murphy's height which was 6'1. Overall he looked like fresh meat for all the hoes. "I have a few class rules. 1- No talking during presentations and lectures. 2- Don't annoy me. That's it."
The entire class just looks at him with surprised looks. "What?" He asks, seeming somewhat confused.
"Well. We assumed that most of our teachers this year will all be hardasses." My brother speaks up.
He laughs and shakes his head. He gives our group a look. "And that's exactly why I won't. I graduated not too long ago so I know how hard this year will be so I'll try not to be a 'hardass'." He finished with a wink which caused us to smile and several panites to drop.
Chapter 1 is up! I'll have a lot of free time with the virus cancelling schools so chapter 2 should be up sometime this week! Remember to comment and vote and stay safe out there!!
