It was a nice calm day at sea, the seagulls were flying in the air their cries to be heard by all those around them watching from above as dolphins swam gracefully beneath the waves breaking the water as they jumped in happiness. As the gulls land on the oceans surface to take a rest from flying the peace is disrupted by a ship coming out of nowhere. On board is a group of sailors, singing as they unravel the sails of their ship and begin bringing in their fishing nets "I'll tell you a tale of the bottomless blue, and it's hey to the starboard heave ho. Look out there the merfolk are waiting for you, in mysterious fathoms below." As the ships figurehead of a mermaid is revealed a dog barking brings the attention of those on board to the helm, where a young woman wearing a white shirt, with black slacks and boots with a red sash around her waist, stands holding onto a rope staring into the horizon as her hair is blown back by the wind with her best friend and companion by her side. Now this young woman is none other than their princess, Adrianna Yagi, the daughter of King Toshinori and Queen Yumei, she is 16 years old, beautiful and has the heart of a hero. She has gorgeous waist length hair that is a mixture of brown and blonde and eyes as blue as the sea. She loves everything about the ocean even though she sadly lost her parents to a shipwreck when she was a child, so in order to ensure she would never be lonely the staff at the castle all pitched in to get her a puppy, the very same one that stands beside her now as a full grown dog, his name is Max. Those that knew her on board loved that she was so free spirited and was never arrogant of her position as a royal, she is loved by all of her people because she isn't a traditional princess who stays stuck inside her castle, but one who ventured out into town and socialized with her people and helped them whenever they needed it. She was a princess that liked to experience the same things as her people, like fishing, visiting the town market and many other things. But, the one thing she wanted more than anything was to marry someone she was in love with, just like her parents had.

As the crew work I breath in the sea breeze with Max by my side "Isn't this great?" I ask aloud but when I got no answer I continued "The salty sea air, the wind blowing in your face?" Max barks beside me in agreement as I sigh and turn towards the person I was talking to "A perfect day to be at sea." I didn't expect to see Shoto being sick overboard when I turned around 'Huh? Guess that's why he didn't answer me then' poor guy. I forgot he gets seasick, but he insisted on coming so it's his own fault I guess. He turned to me with a look of absolute torture on his face as he said in response "Oh it's, delightful" then with a grimace threw up over the side of the ship again. I grimaced at seeing him throwing up it's never easy for my to see those close to me in discomfort so I turned back to face the crew below me, trying to focus on something other than what was happening behind me.

I noticed some of the crew were having trouble hauling in the nets and ran down to the deck to help them out Max followed behind me. As I approached and grabbed onto a rope to help tie it off I overheard one of the men saying "A fine strong wind and a following sea. King Masaru must be in a friendly type mood." King Masaru? Never heard of him before, so being curious of the stories I knew sailors to have, after I tied off the rope with the help of my quirk which I inherited from my father before he died, one for all I asked "King Masaru?" It was the oldest member of the crew who answered me "Why one of the rulers of the merpeople lass." 'Merpeople? So mermaids and mermen are real? Or are they really just sailors tales?' I was broken out of my inner thoughts by him continuing while pulling an orange fish out of one of the fishing nets "Thought every good sailor knew about him." He winked when he was finished which let me know that he was joking around with me.

Before I could respond Max jumped onto me asking for attention which I gave him, footsteps approached from my right and I looked up briefly to see Shoto making his way towards us, fixing his hair 'Guess he recovered from his sea-sickess then'. As I turned my attention back to Max I heard him say disdainfully "Merpeople?" I just looked at him and shook my head before watching what I knew was probably about a be a comical show of Shoto's opinion being knocked down "Adrianna, pay no attention to this nautical nonsense." Uh-oh he's done it now I just know it, and I was right as the old sailor approached him and shook the fish he was holding in Shoto's face "It ain't nonsense, it's the truth!" I held in a laugh as I'd never seen Shoto look so flabbergasted, but still the old sailor continued moving towards him as he spoke causing Shoto to step back until he was backed up against the ships rail "I'm telling you down in the depths of the ocean, they live all around" and with that the fish wriggled free and slapped Shoto in the face before falling into the ocean. I sighed as I realized we'd be heading back to land to dock soon, oh well time to return to being a princess again in the next hour or so. With Max by my side I went back to the helm to keep my eye on the horizon, but I can't help but wonder what if merpeople are real and if they are will I ever see or meet one?.

Now safely in the ocean our little fish looked up at the ships shadow before breathing a sigh of relief and swimming off. A beautiful and enchanting melody begins to play as we watch him swim towards the kelp and corals, passing other kinds of fish a long the way. As he passes some jellyfish the music picks up tempo and the shadow of a merman passes above him, voices join the melody harmonizing with the music as many more merpeople begin swimming too all heading in the same direction both young and old.

Our scene changes to an underwater rock formation, with a gap straight down the centre with a blinding flash of light, the destination these merpeople are heading to is revealed, the city of Atlantica ruled by King Masaru. A place of peace and harmony where music is celebrated and loved by all as is the king himself, and as the merpeople enter a massive hall inside the palace, it is from here that the story begins.
