Dramatic Monologue: Sins of my Past...

"Forgive me Father, for I'm a sinner,

And my last confession I can't remember.

I--I think it was...two ye--No! ...Twenty-four

Long years ago; when innocence did soar

Upon my young shoulders. Lost are those days

However, and corrupted have become my ways.

And I beg your pardon Father, for how

Immoral my mortal sins will sound. And now,

Since anticipation's of a catharsis run wild, I will

To your divine ears my wretched tale spill:

It'd begun with a night where, like every other night

Silence was humming and dim was the moon's light.

And I had been rocking upon the rocking chair; waiting,

To hear my lover's alarming footsteps coming.

And outside, among the skeletal trees,

A raven had harked sinisterly whilst a breeze

Had winged in along the aroma of beer

And piss. And I'd known that he was near.

Indeed, soon, ripped apart was the front door square,

Yet, I'd kept on rocking upon the rocking chair...

And there he was standing; on his own legs tripping;

My divine, drunken mess; dear husband of mine mumbling.

And he'd looked like something the cat might've dragged in;

All dirt and slime; he should've been thrown in the bin.

And he'd smelt strongly of wet dogs, I must confess,

Though that had never made me love him any less.

And so, I'd kept on rocking upon the rocking chair,

Hoping, that he'd grown some sense beneath his lustrous hair;

But then he'd grouched and groused and growled like a bear...

Yet, I'd kept on rocking upon the rocking chair!

For indeed, it was a night like any other night;

Except, I'd sworn to not cower that night,

In fright of my Darling's harsh hands on my skin;

In fright that he'd bruise my soul again, in chagrin.

But then, with red rimmed eyes he'd lurked closer, and closer
